Hey guys. I went up to Waco to visit some friends, and every Thursday night they gather togeter at Wing Stop to eat wings and chat. There's quite a bit of them and I was just kinda thinking that we could do the same thing. I was thinking that we should all meet at a Wings N More every tuesday night. Tell me what you think. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Waiting on wheels from SLP to get her back in shape.

From my fiasco (posted in Texas section :D ) about 2 weeks ago involving an uncontrolled slide across 3 lanes of 59 Inbound between W.Bellfort & Bissonnet.

A good time was had - NOT !!!

However, I walked away unharmed, so I have to feel somewhat lucky about that !

The most visited Houston Car Site is definately:
www.htownracing.com

It kind of started as an amalgam with Houston F-Bodies and Westside Mustangs, and I think one of the Import Clubs, but since has pretty much dominated all the local car sites, people just post on Htown as opposed to their actual clubs, for the most part. There is always stuff going on.

or just check out:
www.houston-f-body.org

Good Luck

I'd be down if someone would like to help me get my car running properly...I'm down here in clear lake...it would be much apreciated, plus some cash and some cold ones would be on me!!!

Psychocabbage, I work for US Foodservice, here in Houston...if you'd be interested in seeing some prices, I could shoot some over to you.

I can help you work on your car. What kind of car and what's the problem? Im working on my ASE Certification, so, Im not the brightest start but I know my basics.

I think people are missing the idea here. I just want to get together and have wings, and talk and have a great time, it doesnt even have to be car related. Just chillin, talking about whatever. Girls, cars, you name it. I just think it would be cool to have our own lil group of guys. Who knows, maybe we'll start our own forum:think:

It's a 95 camaro with a 97 LT1 with heads(Lloyd)/intake(lloyd)/cam/52 tb, headers, etc...It is buring oil like crazy. I think it may be a blown valve seal, that's what my buddy said up in Dallas that put everything together for me. He told me to take out the plugs, but I am not confident AT ALL on working on the thing, until I know what I'm doing. If you've got some time, that would be awesome. Let me know if you could help...I really need to be able to drive it again...my wife is driving me CRAZY about it!!!

I just re-did my valve stem seals about 6 months ago. But I think yours are probably quite a bit different. It's not that hard of a task, you just have to take things 1 step at a time.

Pull all of your spark plugs one at a time and look at them to see which one appears to be burning alot of oil. Once you've found it, remove the valve cover and plug on that side . (while your there I would do all on that side) Then follow these steps.(It may vary seeing as tho I did mine on an 87 Camaro, but I believe the same basic steps apply.

1. Pull plug(s)
2. Remove Valve covers
3. Put a screwdriver in the spark plug hole and angle it first to the left, you should then feel the valve w/ the screwdriver.
4. Place Valve Spring Compressor(free rent at auto zone) on spring, compress and remove keepers and then spring.
5. Pull the old valve seal.
6. Replace w/ new.
7 Replace the crap you pulled.
8. Repeat with your other valve in that same hole.

I may can spare some time to come help you, you don thave to pay me or anything, and seeing as tho I'm 18, I cant drink, so, looks like just working on a car and listening to the radio. btw, I trust myself to do the task, but Im just really leary before I work on someone elses car, and would like to have someone w/ more experience helping me. Maybe Joe can help too, he's a sucker:p

Thanks for the detailed instructions! I am going to try to get one of my brothers "mechanically inclined" friends to help me out. It doesn't seem too bad, plus I guess it will be easier to pull the plugs with the headers...???

FYI, there is a Houston F-Body site http://www.houston-f-body.org/. The e-mail list is more active than the forums.

I just moved back to Houston this week to go to school at SAM. It'd be cool to meet up with some folks on here. It's been kinda boring after school so far.
