Fabricators, photoshopians, and anyone who's creative....help me with an idea...

I picked up a pair of THESE (http://www.tacreationsusa.com/images/HOODs/HO_9397C.JPG) to maybe try out a little idea I had....

The stock 93-97 Camaro hood already has vents in it, but they are sooo small and very flat. I was thinking it might look pretty good if, somehow, the opening in the scoops could be made larger or blistered up (with fiberglass, whatever). Maybe something to the shape of the stock WRX (http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/125000-125999/125476_61_full.jpg) (non-STi) scoop, or a subtle, shorter version of something like THIS (http://www.bobwhitedecals.com/images/9901Decals/HoodScoop.jpg) (no mustang comments :D).

Obviously, this will be two small scoops, at the slight rake angle that they naturally have on the hood....thats why i think it could look good, if done subtlely....

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Not what you are talking about exactly - but it is a custom hood idea. In this case - I don't think it turned out too well. :no:

The problem with your idea is this -
OK - so you get them stacked on top of each other - at a good angle along the front edge of them - then you have to blend the fronts of them together. No doubt you could make that look pretty good. But the problem is, what about the rest of it? The sides and the back? You are going to have a section sticking up above the rest of the hood that can't be as easily molded in to make it look functional or smooth. The front could be pulled off - which wouldn't be easy - but I don't see you getting the rest of the vent molded into the top of the hood without it looking goofy.

Just a thought though man - you gotta go with what you think ultimately.

thats a cool hood and a cool idea but yea thats a custom hood --- dunnno if it would look rite if u put it on the stocker unless u did it custom

Ok its very obvious that they chopped up two SS style scoops and molded them in....that looks like sh!t IMO.

What I am thinking is FAR more subtle. And as far as the back and sides, think about the look of the stock non-STi WRX scoop, only more sloped instead of coming straight down making a 90 degree angle with the hood.

You guys are thinking too big. I am talking subtle subtle subtle. Dont think "scoop," think "blister."

Theres already an indentation in the stock hood....the amount of rise for the scoop could be less than the amount of indentation already there, and it would make the whole opening stand out more.
