Which Plugs do you use?

I'm having to change plugs and wires AGAIN on my '99 V6 and was wondering which brand or part# plugs to use? If anybody has suggestions for plug wires that would be great too.

I don't have the exact part # but I run a Taylor Spiro Wire/ Delco Rapidfire combo. I went for simple reliability and performance.

For the wires, you might want to buy some heat shield "boots" for the plugs...it helped me out a great deal.

I'm Def. going to do the heat sheild thing this time. Maybe they will last longer than 4 months.

For a N/A engine, I would also suggest the Rapidfire plugs.

Check out a post I made called "The Great Misfire Mystery" in this section. If you are constantly replacing wires/plugs, it's probably because of the heat in the engine destroying the wires. My #6 wire's boot had a break in it from the heat, and was grouding intermittently. This caused my problem.

Here's my suggestion: Use high quality wires, and use heat sheathing on the wires (the entire length, except for when the need to go inside the looms) to protect them. Also use the boot protectors (Design Engineering makes them) to protect your boot from deteriorating rapidly. For plugs, unless you have mods I would use the standard GM plugs (currently 41-101 which is Iridium and made by NGK). I have used AUtolite Racing AR103, they're great but wear out fast.

Oh, about the wires....to use Napa's heat sheathing on the wires, you will need to get wires that only have one end on them so that you can slide it over. Otherwise, you'll have to use another type. I recommend MSD SuperConductor wires, universal set. The boot is easy to put on, and you can easily fit the sheathing over it.

n my moms 96 v6 camaro we have been running stock replacement AC delcos and Accel wires and have had no trouble for over a year now.

I read the Misfire post and it was a BIG, BIG Help. (Thanks For That Post!) I used a new set of stock wires but I did put Taylor Boot Protectors on. Those thing are pretty cool. I tried burning them with a lighter and nothing happened. (just smelled a bit) Hopefully this should stop the burning. Now I've got the "check engine" light on"? I took the car in and had a diagnostic done before I started working on it. Thats how I found out that my wires were bad again. Before I dropped the car off i had no light on. When I picked it up I noticed the "check engine soon" light was on and it hasn't gone off yet. The car is running wayyyyy better but now I have to figure out why or what they did to make that light come on. I'm going out right now to check connectors and such to see if I can find the prob.
