That's a pretty nice ride man. I love the choice of rims, hood, and calipers, and even your color scheme. I'm not a big fan of that extra side-stripe, but the main stripes down the center look real good and professional.

I hate to be the one to break it to you but... YOU DON'T HAVE AN SS!

By putting that on there you are being an absolute poser and in some small way saying you are embaressed about what your car really is. Other than that I like the fact that it's unique.

Cargasm- Calm down and pull your panties out of your crack.
He isn't trying to sell his car to you and dupe you into believing it's an SS... so why take it personally and insult him?

Keith's car has a ton of well thought out modifications and is a whole lot faster and better looking (IMO) than a stock SS so if he wants to portray it as his rendition of a Camaro SS... the way he thinks one should look.... why the hell not?

There are way more 69 Camaro SS' on the road today than there were in 69, but who cares?

Is it your car? Then why the hell do you care? If someone takes a 69 camaro with a six, throws in a blown 454 and slaps SS badges on it, he must be an absolute poser as well. You can call him that before he rips the sheetmetal off your car from the vacuum caused by his acceleration.

Whether or not someone puts the wrong badges on a gen. 1 or a gen. 4 means very little. They are still the wrong ones, period. To me, it simply seems as if he is trying to pass his car off as something it isn't.

Some of you people that are getting pissed at me, are more than likely the same people that rip on the ricers for throwing "Type-R" badges everywhere. Also, I am sure if his car was a 3.4 you all wouldn't be so quick to defend.

I am not trying to piss people off, I just don't understand the logic behind such a move.If KISLES2000Z28 cares to explain his logic for putting them on, I would be more than happy to listen, maybe I will be enlightened. That way I won't have to call him a poser, before he rips my sheetmetal off...oh wait, my real car is fiberglass, weighs 2900, and puts 450 to the rear wheels.

I did the same exact thing SLP does...they take a Z28, throw a hood, spoiler and badges at it and tada, GM has a SS that they can sell for thousands of dollars more...With your train of thought, SLP is a poser and all people who bought an SS are posers also? Bottom line is that they all start out the same...
It is my car and I put the mods that I buy on it...the hood is functional and different than a stock SS hood, exactly what I want, different. I expected some ridicule since I am going the different route. I am going against the grain and I want the unique car, something not like the next one on the road...Apparently I am well on my way...
BTW, the true name for a SS camaro is Z28 SS, check it out for the 97 model year...

Read my "its official I'm a ricer thread" , I don't rip others cars, unless they act like an ass. Actually, only your doors and trunklid are fiberglass, the rest is plastic. I suspect you have more mods than whats in your sig, like nitrous or a blower, to be putting 450 to the ground, and have a near bare metal interior. My hardtop, no power stripper Z will be 3120-3020 lbs with my tubular K-frame, A-arms, lightweight carpet, no backseat, no rear seatbelt, no spare, no stereo, and removed A/C.

here's my opinion on this. I like the car. I think it's tight and you've done a great job with it. As for the badging, I think people wouldn't critize much or at all if you had put Z28 instead of the SS symbol. As for me, I know that my car started of as a Z28 and with some changes that makes it an SS, but I take pride in that I have an authentic SS. You said it yourself, most of us do rag on ricers which put Type-R badges on their car even though it's not a Type-R but I don't know if you were expecting this when you put the SS decals on a Z28. Imagine if I did what someone suggested, put Z06 decals on my car since I have Z06 rims.

1: I still feel that SS badges on a Z28 is lame.

2: A real SS is more than just a hood, spoiler and badges.

3: I haven't rip on his car. I like the unique look, I just disagree with passing it off as any rendition of an SS.

4: The450 hp car is my vette...fiberglass

It's fine to not like someones car, or their modifications, but it's not cool to insult Keith and call him names.

I feel if you had a ricemobile GS-R Integra.. modified it and added some cool rims and Type R badges, that's fine. As long as it's at least as fast as a real Type R. Anything is cool if it's done in good taste. It's when people put performance badges on slow hunks of s**t that I think it's queer. But to each their own.

But some people get all fired up and feel there's sacredness in the trim level of an automobile.

Whether or not this is an SS, it is nice looking. On the topic of switchin' up emblems, IT IS OK... IF THE CAR PACKS THE PUNCH TO BACK IT UP. I don't know if this car does, but IT IS A NICE CAR. The owner may prefer the look of the SS emblem over the Z28. However, I do not think people should hold anything against CARGASM for making the statement he did. He voiced his opinion like people are supposed to.

I think the HP statement would be much more true to life.

ok you z06 wheel guys would be the ones to ask this. I've loved those wheels ever since I first saw them on the poster for the 00' Camaro SS. But that's the only place I've seen them (that is on a poster) besides the Z06 vettes. Were they available for Camaros as "stock" wheels? are they only in 17's and 18's ? Just seeing if I'm the only one that has seen or noticed this. Thanks.
