...Yeah, I'm concidering doing a Suspension Tech. sway bar, sub-frame connectors, strut tower brace, and so on. Now please don't get me wrong cuz I'm not condoning driving fast on the street but just for comparisions sake; lets say that we're talking about going around a corner where the posted speed limit is 45, if I can easily go around it at 65 to 70 now, what difference are these mod's going to make??? After mod's; 80? 90? Would some of you guys/gals just give me a rough idea at what I could expect??? Bill...

ps.... yeah, what could I exspect OTHER than a SPEEDING TICKET ;)

That's an iteresting way to ask the question, all right... :)

The sway bar helps alot with body roll. I can't put a number on how much faster it'll make you but it will be a noticeable difference. I've noticed that my car is alot easier to control with the bar. I think sam has a new hollow one, but i dunno if it is gonna be comperable to the solid 35mm one.

I haven't done the other stuff, but people tell me chassis stiffening doesn't do much.

...Thank you ;) ... I'll have to check on the new one Sam has cuz I don't really want all the weight of the S.T bar. And of course, I don't like the price of the Hotchkis bar. Thanks again, I think I'll do the sway bar first {even though it doesn't seem like my car 'rolls' much}. I can't find much on 'searches' on this. Just that tires make a HUGE difference. May be I'll concider 11 x 17's & 335/35/17's??? Bill...

mod's; 9.5 x 17 rims, 275/40/17 tires, Eibach springs {the lowest ones}, free mods, low temp. thermastate {woo, bad spelling}, a turn fan on sooner thing-y, a stereo thats not in yet :(... more to come....

the added weight of the solid 35 is offset by the fact that it's CRAZY stiff...

how bout BMR 32/21mm solid bars which come with all the mounting hardware you need for around $325 i think...

i love mine and it REALLY decreased the body roll, you don't realize how much there is till you put bars on to decrease it!

I can't really say how fast you'll be able to corner. Some of us on here could take corners on a stock suspension better than others could on a highly modified one. The nut behind the wheel has a lot to do with that. If you just want to know if suspension mods are worth the money, they are. The differences are night and day.

All I can add is this:

When you change your sway bar to a 35mm or similar you will notice the most difference.
New springs and shocks will also add a huge amount of improvement as well.
The STB and SFCs will each make a slightly noticeable improvement.
Quick side to side moves are assisted by moving to a PHB with solid/harder endlinks.
I'm not a big believer in aftermarket torque arms but I don't drag race either. So no advantage for me to have one. They might help for straight line power transfer to the wheels though.
Control arms might make an improvement too depending on which ones you get. Poly LCAs have been known to bind in hard cornering. If I ever replace mine I'm going with rod ends. :D
I think that about covers it.

Whatever you do, use quality parts. Some cheap parts are also good quality too so be sure to ask around. The only thing you can do to really hurt your cornering ability is to stiffen up the rear too much, causing oversteer.

L.O.L ;) good one, "the nut behind the wheel".... I have the Ebaich springs already and KYB shocks. I've got the KYB's that everyone says aren't any good. I don't know what they think isn't good about them other than the fact that they make my car ride like a TRUCK {p.s... nothing against trucks, but if I wanted one, I'd buy one} but anyway it sticks to the corners like GLUE..... Oh, whats PHB stand for??? Solid/harder end links??? THANKS Bill...

PHB = Pan Hard Bar. It's the rod that keeps the rear axle centered under the car. NASCAR calls it a track arm.

By solid/harder, I suggest changing to one with poly bushings or rod ends.

...ok, panhard bar. Yes, the solid ends would keep the rear from moving even more, huh? THANKS a bunch, this board is GREAT ;) ... Bill...

p.s ... I wonder if the brackets that hold the pan hard bar need to be stiffened??? They look sort of 'cheezy'... xxx

....ok, I guess my 'more is better' attitude gets in the way sometimes ;) .... THANK YOU, Bill...

I've never tried sam's hollow 35mm, but then again not many people have. I doubt that it'll be as stiff as the solid on though. You won't really notice that extra weight.

That's probably why the prior owner of my car sold it. stiffened the rear too much i had understeer going into the turns, which snapped into oversteer as soon as the springs got stiff.

I neutralized the suspension a lot by changing from 275/40/17s to 16" wheels and tires. The car now rides and handles better with dunlop snows than it did with BFG comp TAs.

I suggest you go with a kit, or package sold by one vendor. The prior owner of my car sourced the parts out from all over the place, and while all top notch, they dont work in harmony the way I want them to.

When I called up SLP to get the specs on their springs I got numbers from SLP that no published site has. When I called up Rippie to find out the specs on his shocks I was referred to Bilstein. They told me they needed all kinds of info from the shock, receipt, etc., and suggested i send them to bilstein to get revalved. All aggrivation that would have been avoided if matched components were used in the first place.

I drove a friends brand new infinity coupe yesterday. Man the camaro suspension feels primitive! the car rode real nice, almost as smooth as my wife's 01 aurora. i didnt push it, but im sure it can do everything my truck smooth camaro can, and more.
