My Motor + N20 question

My motor was built for boost. 383, 9.5:1 compression, MTI ported LT4 Heads, SRP pistons, Eagle H beams and a steel crank (I haven't figured out which one yet, I bought the motor fired but unused). 2 bolt mains (unfortunately)... I run a CC305 (emissions) and that's about all I think you guys would care about.

Anyhow, I had a deal on a blower and it looks like the guy is backing out of it now, so I'm thinking I might switch to Nitrous.

I have questions about if it's reasonable to switch, how much of a shot could I run etc on this motor.

I will run a wet kit, probably NX.

Sounds like you have plenty of short block to handle the power. If I was you I would continue to look for a charger. Your compression is way too low to run N/A or with N2O. You will be leaving a lot of HP on the bench if you don't back up the low compression with a charger.

Well my car is daily driven NA right now with the 9.5:1, still goes better than my 10.5:1 350 with the same cam did. :) hehe

Anyhow, everyone agree with Red that the low compression makes N2O kind of pointless?

it isnt pointless ... u can still spray a lot of nitrous and make a lot of power .. but ud just make more power if u had a higher c/r motor

u'll be better off with a blower .. but a blower with a intercooler will cost an arm and a leg more than a nitrous setup ...

u should stick the n2o on it for now .. buy the blower and then have dual adders for when u line me up ;)

the 1 advantage you have will be slightly less tress on head gaskets due to lower cylinder pressures. go for the bottle,tune it right,and spray big,have fun.

we spray a 406 that has 9.5:1 with a 150 and it drops from 11.4's to 10.3's.
