Opinions on what Amp to use

Hey all,

Haven't posted much in this section, but I was looking for some opinions, since I will be getting a new amp come spring time.

Right now I have 2 Image Dynamic 10" V.3 subs in a Jensen 4-port enclosed box with a plexiglass shield. The subs were previously powered by a Pioneer 2-Ch 760 Watt amp (Obviously, quite a crappy amp )

I wanna step up the power to the subs a little bit, since they can handle so much more, and they are pretty high quality. What amp should I go with that will really show off their power and clarity? Obviously it needs to be 2-channel. BTW, I'm using a new style Sony Explod head unit with 2 RCA.

Thanx for the opinions guys

Why does it "obviously" need to be a 2 channel amp? Why not a mono class-D subwoofer amp? What is the impedance of your subs?

Well, it is a dual-channel capable sub. I figured the two channel would be best for that set up.

But if I'm wrong, feel free to enlighten me.

There's really no need to run subwoofers in stereo. Especially in a car. What impedance are your subwoofers? If they are 4ohms each you could connect them in parallel for a 2ohm load and power then with a mono subwoofer amp.

JL Audio has tutorials with diagrams and explanations to help you understrand what I'm talking about.

I went with the 500/1 Mono amp from JL Audio, very powerful and will do the job for your 2 subs. I'm running a 10" W6 from JL Audio with XR650CXI and XR650CSI replacement speakers with 300/4 JL Audio amp. I still need it installed but haven't decided what deck to get? Leaning towards the Alpine IVA-D900 multimedia center with 7" dvd screen.
