Guys,
My second Auto took a dump on Friday. It had about 41K miles on it with about 13K miles on a Blown 383. The old 4L60E trans was made to handle 500 "FLYWHEEL" HP Max.

Here is my dilemma......I am looking into either getting a M6 conversion OR going with a 4l60e made to withstand 650 Flywheel HP www.dynotechperformance.com They has one in the Vette Running 9.70 in the quarter mile with no issues so far and has many guys running them in thier daily drivers with 500++ "REAR" Wheel HP & TQ. I can get the Auto Trans and have it installed for about 2300 bucks.

I was also thinking about doing a M6 conversion but I cant seem to find a complete or decent M6 anywhere and the install prices are up there with install and finding all the parts I am looking at about the same price or more than the Rossler Transmission. I think the M6 conversion would be more fun on the street and would give better gas mileage but it would also require a 12 bolt rear pretty soon and that is money I really dont have anytime soon to throw at the car.

What would you do if you were in my shoes? Go with the More stout A4 or the M6. I do drive my car about 600 Miles weekly and it will only see the track about 3-4 times a year, so please keep that in mind. Also Does anyone know of someone who is selling a T56 conversion kit or knows of a shop that can do the T56 install that wont charge a freakin arm and a leg in NJ. Please keep in mind also that my car should be making ~530 FLYWHEEL this year after I get it dyno tuned with my new Y-pipe, if its not there already.

Edit...I asked this question on the Forced induction side but wanted to see what you guys think as well since most folks here are making great power too.

Any help would be appreciated,
Claude

I would give level ten performance a call(online also). they are in north jersey and can build you a trans rated to handle around 800 rwhp. they are somewhat costly price range around 21-2500 with the core charge but i have heard nothing but good things about them. another place is netgearhead they are online but last time i checked thier site was down, otherwise i was going to order form them. me personally i was lucky enough to find a trans built to handle 600 rwhp from another board member and all i need is a convertor. i personally like racing an auto better than a stick, less chance of rear end breakage due to not shocking the rear with a 5-6 k clutch drop or missing a shift when your adreniline is pumping, instead im sippin my coffee while the guy next to me is shifting his arse off trying to win :)

i vote auto. i had mine built and it withstood 2 years of abuse and a 175 shot at the end.

i did have a freak part failure, and that was the output shaft, but the car dead hooked on the 175 and we still cant figure out why the driveshaft didnt snap first.
if i had to do it again,i would go with another 4l60e,but im going right for the TH400 swap as i dont drive my car often.
