Darn Exhuast Leak

I started my car and started scraping it today and smoke was pooring out from the pipe near the ground effects about 2 feet behind the front right wheel. Its about 10 degrees and snow is all over so I don't want to crawl around and take pictures unless necessary. Can anyone tell me what is right there (something inexpensive hopefully). Its a 1989 V6 firebird. Thanks guys.

Thats the area where the Y-pipe goes into the cat. You'll need to get under it and see where it's leaking.

Y pipe or cat.. it should be on the passenger side about mid door.not expensive if you know a muffler guy.. good luck with that

No way around it. You have got to get under there. It sounds like the flange of the cat but you will not know unless you get under and see if it is the flange or a rusty spot on the pipe. FYI, that is bad because if you are idling, there exists a potential for the exhaust to get into the cabin.
