Light weight wheels?

I've been out looking at some light weight wheels that are somewhat larger than the stock 16's. I saw some great ones at www.forgeline.com (http://www.forgeline.com) but those were about $700 to $1000 per wheel (incredibly light, though. a bit less than 20 lbs for a 17 x 9.5)

what do you guys recommend? I'm more interested in having a light weight durable wheel than I am in having something really flashy, and I'd like to see a set for around $2000

thanks

FWIW, the GM SS 17x9's that I just bought were a surprising 20.5lb/wheel...which is not bad at all. Of course, it's not a 9.5, but for $699 new for all four...yeah.

Just an idea http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

If these are for just for racing not looks, you could easily pickup some C4 wheels, 17x9.5" or earlier models were available in 16x9.5" as well. Sometimes the fronts where an in narrower, so if you watch on eBay make sure you know what your getting.

I have been pleased for the last 5 years with my Forgeline 17x9.5 track wheels. I just sold them because of cosmetic reasons, and because they didn't fit over my newest front brake system. If you think you might upgrade your front brakes and are going to get Forgelines, order your 17" Forgelines with the 17" centers, not the 18" like I did. They are somewhat stronger, and look better with the larger spoke openings, but they are made with a "reverse" configuration and the drop center allows less clearance behind the spokes than their 17" center allows. The 18" centers also cost and weigh more. If you decide on Forgelines, I can tell you a source that lists the 17x9.5 for under $500/wheel. Email me privately if interested.
