Question Will 05 Z06 have a 427?

What is the 05 Corvette Z06 going to have in it? I've heard that it will have a 7.0L aluminum 427, but haven't heard that rumor lately.

nobody knows, but i've read teh reports supposidly coming from important figures and it sounds like they will be displacing 7 liters to hit the 500 hp mark..

We'll have to wait and see!

I have yet to hear about a C6 Z06. I have no doubt that there will be one but I don't think it's gonna be out for the '05 MY, possibly not even the '06.

The last I heard, the Z06 was due to come out in 2006 with close to 500hp. It'll be interesting to see how close they actually get to those #'s.

In this month's issue of Road & Track, they review the 2005 C6. THey stated in the article that the Z06 will not come until 2006 (preview late 2005)

Yes, it is 2006. I heard that GM wants to distance the Z06 further from the base model. Therefore, look for a Z06 with a minimum of 450hp and possibly close to the 500 mark. I will be the first to venture a guess and say 480hp, hehe. I just hope they dont cost an arm and a leg. Atleast it will decrease the price of the 2002-2004 Z06, ahh it will be mine!

ive heard rumors that the 06 Z06, although it will have close to 500 hp as stated, may be a 6.0L or a 7.0L, supposedly GM is looking into both motors.

5thg en forum is ideal for this type of question
yes, we've heard 7.0 L and 6.4 L AFAIK
and yes, i've definately heard the 500hp before but there are some skeptics
also, most are guessing near the 60k mark for the price

I hope the 06 Z06 isn't 450hp. Whew, 50 more hp than the base model. Big deal. I wanna see a 500hp Z06, not 490hp. 500HP!

not only will the 06 zo6 put down more power than the base corvette it will be more than likely lighter in weight due to the frame rails being made of aluminum as opposed of the hydro-formed steel that is on the current cars. the car will definitely handle better than the current z06. i would guess $60 for the going price.

the 06 z06 will step up in a very big way when it hits the streets for sure
