Here's what you need to do....hook up the WB O2 and the jug and we'll go do some tuning on it. Then we'll see what happens when the viper is REALLY in the spray. 11.64 in the 1/4 will be a distant memory! :)

What kind of times do you have in the 1/8 and 1/4?

Well i only have 400 Miles on the new engine so i havent made it to the track yet, getting ready to have 3:73 installed. I spun the second bearing in January which snapped the crank and broke the block, so it has been down for a while. Old times were 9.2 to 9.5 all stock, so i am anxious to see what the car will do.

They said it was all motor when I beat them...But I've never had a car pull back up on me three or four times in a race before. Said it was because the timing was retarded for nitrous. I'd pull away a car and they would pull back up.

BTW...I did race a Viper in the car at about 216 miles. It was the second day I had the car and we drove out Cleveland. I still had the drive out tag in the window. I pulled up next to a Viper...jumped him real bad. Held him off until the top of third..heh..where he blew by like I was sitting still. We told him good race at the red light and kept driving down the road. We decided to head home because we couldn't top that race and saw the guy in the Viper pulled over on the side of the road with a cop writing him a ticket...I felt sorry for him.

Those times are hard to believe all motor for a street car....he should spray it and run outlaw 10.5. Don't see it happening.

Well , more then one person saw it , Just because it can have tags and headlights and taillights , doesn't make it a street car , This car was a race car that was street legal ! thats all ! Still a race car anyway you look at it ! Drive it to the track without a trailer and drive it home after the race without breaking , Now thats a street car !!!!

I can vouch for Donnies car Tony, it is naturally aspirated. It's also a big cubic inch smallblock, with about 16:1 compression. Best of everything, I have seen it on the dyno. And it has supposedly run 5.90's. I believe it makes enough power to.

Well with Shawn's help I got my car fixed tonight.My Wife got a new tail shaft for it at east ridge trans,and Shawn installed it for me while I sat around and drank beer .then he wired up my cutout for me when I took a nap.He does good work and he didnt even charge me for it.So I will see you guys at the track :)

A 6.00 street car with n02 or turbos or s/c maybe. Or maybe I didn't realize I had a true street car in my Camaro....it will run 5.90's with a 1.55 60' on the motor and it doesn't shift into 2nd gear until its almost to the finish line.

As far as The 16:1 street car, the owner has emphatically stated to me, on more than one occasion, that he will not race or drive that car on the street. So I don't consider it a street car. Besides, he just bought Joey Martins mustang, I believe he plans on running limited street with it.

If someone knows how to get in touch with Steve could you give me a call at 421-6136...or just tell him to call me. I just want to check and make sure he got my car...and see if there is anything he needs.

But by MPH I would say it would be all viper on the street.

LT99LS1...I'll race on the motor in my 2002 Z28. All it has is a lid and exhaust cut out. I've never run it at the track...But it should be some where around what you mentioned.

I personally know 2 people that have tried to make RX-7's fast cars, and while it can be done, it's not as simple as anyone would have you believe. As far as the math on prestage.com that's all just estimates as there are really no hard and fast rules as to what one car will run based on weight and horsepower. You also have realize that an RX-7 with (I'm assuming here) stock gears isn't going to run the 1/8th that fast. In the quarter it could possibly put a number that would indicate low 7's in the 1/8th, but a turbo car is, 9 times out of 10, going to run the back half of the the quarter to make up for it's short comings in the first half of the track.

I don't know much about Roy's car except that he's been through a few motors and sued some people for nonsense. That being said, he's talking trash about wanting to race the Viper. Everyone knows what the Viper is capable of, and I've got to say that's got to be one SERIOUS 2-rotor to hang with the Viper. There is a 3-rotor RX-7 in town, and I'd say Roy should have to take him down before he gets on the Viper or BrentB. When the Viper raced the 3-rotor, he was having problems. It would be a real good race between the Viper and the 3-rotor running right. Roy had better be on his best game if he wants to hang with either of those cars.

Let me explain my commet about the 1/8th vs. 1/4 mile thing. John Meaney (he helped Mike Moran with that quad turbo Camaro) built a twin turbo Corvette. On street tire this car runs 11.11 @ 151mph (No that is NOT a misprint). The car runs the back half of the 1/4 in 3.3 seconds. Doing the math, that equals 7.81 in the 1/8th. Now bear in mind that this car makes upwards of 1400hp. So don't let the ET's be your only indicator as to who will win a race. MPH = horsepower as best as I can tell.

A couple notes here. The Viper has a best of 7.69 at Brainerd on street tires. The stang can't hook on the street from a 20 roll so he probably wasn't hooking at the strip....and one pass doesn't tell much. Its really easy to settle if anybody is willing. I will make a pass at the strip then everybody can follow me home, we will put my car on the lift for inspection in/out/over/under whatever to prove there is no n02.....but it will be a bet of $1,000 minumum. Any takers???? There are going to be some SURPRISED folks when it does get a power adder. Here is part of a post from another board, this was the guys 2nd drag strip pass in a 2002 STOCK Viper and the car had under 1k miles. Pretty good:

I think the point Eric was making there is that, indeed, the stang was on the hose when he raced you that night. I, too, saw the pass and he did spin quite a bit off the line. I'm not sure what kind of tires he was on, but I seem to recall them being drag radials. I have no doubt that with some traction the car is capable of running much better.

I had my Z dynoed there also. 100% stock with 3000 miles it put out 272rwhp and 292rwtq.

Your also has the Z06 intake by default,I have to pay $450 for the same extra 6hp you get for that thing. Want to trade? J/K you would have to be on crack to make a trade like that.

What kind of mod sdo you have on your Z now?

Herb Adcox says that it is normal for the rear end to whine, pop, and rattle. Since they said that it has started to make grinding noises...and every once in a while it will start making a noise like someone is cutting glass.

I finally got the parts and labor sheet from them in the mail. Where it lists the problems with the car it says plain as day that the 3-4 gear shifter fork needs to be replaced. I specifially asked if they replaced it and was told by the head guy NO. I can't find a shifter fork listed anywhere in the parts list.

If the dealership has the car for 10 more days in the next year I can start talking lemon. All I wanted was my car fixed...All they want to do is slap band-aids on it until the warranty runs out.

Does that mean they replaced the entire differential housing...But used the same old worn out ring & pinion? Under the parts section it lists 1 case, 2 bearings, 1 wheel RR(What's that?), and 10 bolts for the differential cover.

Somebody correct me if am wrong but,the ring and pinnon should be ok unless teeth are broken or worn.

I have no idea what a wheel RR is.

I will try and find the part number for the shift fork tonight in my Tremec T56 manual.

The pinion bearing has already gone out once before...the rear was making terrible roaring noises at anything over 30 miles an hour...You could feel it all through the car. Instead of replacing the ring & pinion they shimmed it.

Now it looks like they have replaced everything except for the ring & pinion. heh...

More than likely, they replaced the diffential bearings and the differential itself (the case). I bet they did use the same ring and pinion gear, to keep from having to set a new gearset up. The RR is probably the reluctor ring for your ABS. You only have one ring where traction control equipped cars have two.

Herb Adcox is a joke. I wouldn't even let them work on a matchbox car.

I had it dynoed at DynoLab in Atlanta. Its worth the drive to get on a DynoJet, plus the guy that runs it is very cool and you can sometimes get a couple of extra pulls in there.

I know the story on the motor that he bought and had put in. It was a screwed up deal, to say the least. It involves quite a few people, lawsuits, and general stupidity as far as I'm concerned. :)

I know he sued everybody who had a hand in or on the motor,but he had too in order to be able to hold the manufacturer responable. You can thank our Court System for that. The only thing the other people lost was time and maybe a little money. I don't think anybody would have lost more than time if they had been willing to go to Court in the first place.

Ok, so I worked for the guy that orignally bought the motor. I was sitting right there when he ordered the thing.

So here's how the story goes. Jade calls this cat on the west coast to build him a RACE (let's not forget that term) motor. He tells the guy what he wants in the motor and what he is going to do with it. The fellow on the west coast agrees to build and sell the motor. The motor finally ships. The shipping company drops the motor. It goes back to the cat on the west coast to make sure everything is as it should be. He calls Jade and tells him everything is ok. Motor finally arrives. Jade sits on it for a while, then decides that he doesn't want to spend that much money to go fast so he puts the motor up for sell. He prompts the 3-rotor owner about buying it. 3-rotor owner doesn't really need the motor, but he buys it anyway. Motor sits in crate. Roy comes along and wants the motor. 3-rotor owner sells the motor for what he has in it. Tells Roy what all is SUPPOSED to be in the motor (notice that NO ONE has opened the motor as this point). Roy pays someone to put the motor in. Roy grenades the motor just a few short weeks after having it put in. Now Roy sues everyone involved; the cat that built the motor, the dude who bought it, the 3 rotor owner, and the fellow that installed it. That's, count 'em, 4 people. The only person who had any REAL knowledge of what the engine actually had in it was the cat that built it. Therefore, suing all of the people in between IS nonsense if you think about. None of the 3 middlemen had any clue that the motor wasn't actually built the way that Jade specified. So how can they be held responsible for being defrauded as well? Sounds like Roy needed to sue one person only, not the lot of people that provided him with something unbeknowst to anyone to be other than what was stated.

Now, if that motor was built the way it was intended to be built, a RACE motor, do you think it should come with a warranty? If you order RACE parts from Summit, Jeg's, Lunati, etc. do you think you get a warranty on them? I think most places don't offer a warranty on RACE items. Since Jade ordered that as a RACE motor, there should have been no warranty. If Jade was defrauded in the process, that's another story. But the fact that NO ONE other than the cat who built the engine had any clue what was in it, suing everyone else involved is a crock of sh*t, and I think most everyone else would agree.

Oh yeah, just for the endgame. Everyone went to court except for the cat on the west coast. I figure he didn't think it was worth his time to show. Everyone was exonerated except for the dude that didn't show. I'm not sure how the whole court fee thing was divvied up, but I can find that out in very short order if anyone would like to know.

And for what it's worth, I think RX's are neat cars, and I like to see them go fast. I want this one to go fast as well. I like to see anything that looks good go fast. Just don't want everyone to think that I'm against this ride laying down the law when necessary.

LinearX....You hit nail on the head except for one thing now that the Georgia court has established who is liabale for the motor the court case gets domesticated (court talk for for moved) to Washintion state for the Engine builder to fork out some $$$$ for selling the WRONG motor.

Damn this is all most funny we are :bs: ing about other peoples legal problems.

If the cat from the west coast did, indeed, sell the wrong motor and defraud....well, hell, everyone involved except for that cat that installed the motor, then he needs to be held liable. With the way things work in the justice system, as is evident by the train load of **** that has come along with this motor, I won't hold my breath on them making that dude pay out.

Ouch...hate to hear that. I bet it ran pretty good while it was leaned out that much, or did it just blow the gasket instantly when you hit the hose? The machine shop still has my rotating assembly and block. I was hoping to get the short block back together this weekend, but oh well...hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back on the road.

it left real good !:D and sideways ! spinning the tires !:eek: then it layed over at half track .

i'll be back in about two weeks . that is on the streets with the mustang .

I wish you guys would come out on Friday night so I could get in on this action. It seems like every time my car is broke, everyone is always out, but when I have it fixed, I can't find anyone except the same old people in Cleveland. Maybe one day I will actually get a Sat. night off.
