I guess they know better. I love going to the import car shows and watching the guys get up on the dyno and pull a 230 or 260 and say man I just put 10 grand in my engine and isn't that a lot of hp? Then I respond with thats what I made stock and roll my eyes. For as much as they spend on their 260hp. I could have an 8 second car...

 HAHA. I heard the whole convo Steve, you try to compliment her car and she disses the cobra. Hey 350 hrss, look at his dyno numbers. You really wanna talk $hit about that cobra?? You can call BS on the numbers too but, I was there at the dyno with Steve as well as a couple others. You can laugh and tell him your sorry that he owns a cobra...but I would love to see who's sorry at the end of the track ;).
350 HRSS 07-21-2003, 10:50 AM I was waiting to get hold of this post when I came in to work today. That was the sorriest meeting I have ever had. No F-body
brother hood at all. I see now why there isn't a VA f-body club.
FIRST of all, we come out of Fast Freddys and there is a group around my Z. I was basically attacked as soon as I got out there.
And the guy w/ the Cobra, he needs a reality check. And Stephen04? Who are you? And I never heard Steve say a word
as far as a compliment about my car. I never spewed any BS. I said I didn't street race, and it drives this Cobra driver balistic. And the fact that I won't drive 3+ hours to Rockingham when he wanted to go, didn't please him either. He didn't like the Piedmont Dragway idea. Then, I heard my car ran 12.0's and the car hasn't ever been in the 1/4. Sorry, been in the Marine CORPS, ya know, OOOOORAH!, for the past year, haven't been in town to WORK or drive the Z.
So, STEVE, want to tell me WHAT I was spewing? You and John are for of BS. That's ok, b/c it won't be so great next time. AND I NEVER said anything about a *sorry Cobra owner*. That never came out of my mouth. But if your car isn't there, I don't think you should come up to someone you DON'T know, and start talkn'
****.
I don't care if you don't like my attitude, but quite frankly, I don't like the way we were approached. Makn' the Cobra guy look innocent, lol Come down to Raleigh sometime, you'll get a better welcome, but your Coby will get busted ;)
OH, nice meeting yall

StephenF04 07-21-2003, 11:23 AM Well,
First off I was in a white t-shirt and camo shorts. Steve came with me. You talk about things you know nothing about. There is quite the comrodory of F-body owners here. ATTACKED????? Steve, Scott, and I were all anxious to hear about your car, as well as many others that were gathered around. That's the honest truth. It sounded nice pulling in and someone mentioned it ran 12's. So we simply ask if it did. Steve DID compliment your car. I heard him say that it was nice and ask about mods. He said "he didn't know too much about the LT1's" and you ask what he drove. He said "Cobra" and you turn your nose up. Who needs a reality check??? You then SAY TO HIM "you sound like someone who wants to run" :D :D. I don't wanna talk for Steve, but I know him and know that his cobra has only been run on the street in rare occassions. TOO much power . Steve, and I were at Piedmont Thursday after the dyno. I'm sure he won't mind too much going back. I am serious when I say I hate that you didn't like it at Freddy's. It's a great time week after week. Everyone just knows Steve and how his car runs and found it funny.
350 HRSS 07-21-2003, 11:54 AM LOL
"all hail steve..."
No, that is not how it was. I talked about things I don't know about? Have you lost your mind? Have you ever torn an F-body
down from nose to bumper? I have.
I didn't mean to make any of you feel threatened  And he said he didn't know much about LT1's, that make me a little upset, b/c he had a smirk on his face, trying to make me look stupid, like I would just give him a list of what my car was made of
Turned my nose up about a Cobra? One that wasn't *there*?
Well, sorry, I am NOT a Ford person-at all :death:
I don't even look at them, forgive me...
I think he could have spent a lot less, and went a lot faster in an
F-body :o
I would like to see this pinkish/purplish beast of his :) Maybe next time he will have his there? If possible?
Now yall can think I am a b*tch all you want. I was just looking for a good time. Instead of being approached the way we were.
It was like a frickn' battle out there!
Oh well, maybe next time, it will be better, and Steve can bring his car. I may bring the TA, too much excitement w/ that Z!

Well,
First off I was in a white t-shirt and camo shorts. He said "he didn't know too much about the LT1's" and you ask what he drove. christ i missed all the fun stuff? =p sorry ang, i woulda been on your side on that one, theres a reason I'm not into Fords, and half the reason is the people who are.
350 HRSS 07-21-2003, 01:14 PM Izod,
Exactly. Most fOrD people i.e., stang drivers, I meet, are like that :( It is sad. But oh well. I stayed until about 8:30 or so Izod, then we went to Ruby Tuesdays for mudslides :) Maybe I will see you next time!

I didnt hear much of the convo b/w you and steve, but he is usually not one to be cocky or brag. Post when everyone is coming. I would like to meet some more of you. StephenF04 07-21-2003, 03:11 PM You are just some close-minded person who thinks there car is better than anything else on the road. It's apparent you thought so when you so confidently suggested to Steve y'all run. You were not approached in a negative way   I never suggested or hinted at the fact you didn't know about F-Body's. You must just hear what you want to. When I stated you talk about things you know nothing about I was refering to the fact you don't know what type of F-Body comrodory there is in Roanke. Read the post it's probably pretty clear ;) . "Pinkish/Purplelish" :o :o ....have you looked at your car lately??? White wheels..hahaha
350 HRSS 07-21-2003, 03:41 PM I shoudln't reply, but why the hell not? Close-minded? To fOrD, yes :D
I never suggested to snake boy that we run, just that he talked like he wanted to run. You need to listen better. And you should have made your post more clear, as to I didn't know what I was talking about.
No, I do not think my car is better than anything on the road, where did you hear me say that? I have a lot of pride in it, yes, but I really think T/A's are the best on the road, that is why I bought one last week, :D THE NEW 98+ body style that is, the older LT1 style, yikes...well, it needed a facial.
You want to comment on my white wheels huh? hehe Couldn't you have picked something else? That is an anniversary concept.
Hope you don't have the CZ28 V2 screensaver, b/c if so, you get a chance to look at those wheels many times a day
You would probably be someone that would talk trash about the blue wheels on a 30th T/A as well...sad.
Anyway, this looks like this is more between you and I, than me and your buddy. Since this is so personal, I guess I should stop now. If you want to discuss this further, my EMAIL is:

StephenF04 07-21-2003, 04:07 PM You're right, it's an anniversary concept. 30th....not 28th ;) . Anyway, I like your car, I really do...just defending my boy a little bit. If I didn't like I wouldn't have been standing by it waiting for the driver (you) to come up. Steve just hasn't had a chance to reply..YET. I like the blue wheels on the T/A  . You don't like the mystic paint (from what I gathered)..I don't like white wheels...just personal opinion. I understand this should be about you and Steve, but seriously he will reply back so just keep looking back.

Don't get me wrong, I love mystic, I have one, the V6, but I am a female :D Still a purdy color :) Girls look cool in cars that change
colors ;) No offense boostfed!
Thanks for your compliments!

Nah, just tell your boy Steve to EMAIL me, much easier, don't you think? You can stop being his mommie now, you did well :D
Steve, if you read this...E-M-A-I-L me @ hotrodn350@hotmail.com
As a long time senior member, we shouldn't be using CZ28's space for our personal disputes :D
I'll be waiting!

HAHA. You'll be crying for your mommie if you run him  . Message boards are for things like this. Some good ol smack talking. Why not let everyone see what y'all have to say. For once I do agree with you on one thing, I don't need to talk for him, just defending him until he can get to his computer. This is between y'all :)
BlownmysticSVT 07-21-2003, 04:57 PM 350HRSS,
My email is down, so i am responding here.
First of all, I DO think your car is nice. I personally like a little of everything, but own a FORD. I also hang out with all kinds of different car enthusiasts. In Roanoke, from what i see, ther isn't different "cliques". I'm sorry you didnt feel the brotherhood. I dont think you got attacked. If you take your car somewhere and pop the hood, expect a few questions!! If you dont want any questions, park accross the road and walk to the show. I never asked you to run, and I respect your decision on not street racing. I didnt go balistic, I just didnt understand why you said "You look like someone that wants to race" As far as I'm concerned we can race if you want, i dont see the point in it. I have a blown car, you are N/A. I like to see a good race. ie: i wouldnt go up to an outlaw car and try to race, its 2 different leagues.
Izod,
As far as the "people that drive fords" comment, I'm sorry you feel that way. But that is the case in all types of cars. You dont know me, so dont stereotype me.
Maybe next time I WILL have my car there. It wasnt there this week because it had a broken axle because I race it and dont just bench race. Actual racing is much more fun than talking $hit at a car show, you should try it sometime :D
Later,
Steve

Easy Now! :D
Its all difference of opinion. I personally like mustangs and f-bodies, I have owned 2 Cobra's, an ls1 WS6, and now my lt1 car that I have had for a couple years. Here in Roanoke we dont really have a "group" of f-bodies b/c there isnt enough to make a group. There are alot of mustangs and a few camaro's and trans ams. We all hang out and have a good time. A couple of my best friends own blown Mustangs and they are awesome cars. They all have there advantages/disadvantages.
Scott
You're right I don't know you and I didn't mean to stereotype. Just stating my personal experiances. I love the old style 5.0s personally. You just seemed to fit into the same stereotype from the comments I heard, but I wasn't there to witness any of it so its not my place to talk anyways. Just stating an opinion that was spawned from experiance after experiance with certain Ford owners. :o anyways we should just have a beer, talk about the cars themselves, and then have another beer. or mudslide, or whatever the hell you want. this whole thread is a bit redonkerous. :D
That was my half-hearted apology to ya. Take it or leave it. :D
QCKZ28 07-23-2003, 01:48 AM im from Tazewell, VA 100 miles to bristol dragway.
Derek 94Z28 07-25-2003, 03:52 PM Hey I got a quick question for you guys in SW VA. The guy I usually get to inspect my car graduated from Tech this spring so I need to find a place to pass my car seeing as I have no cat anymore. Any suggestions for somewhere that either won't look that close or gimme a break for a case of beer or something lol. Thanks guys,
Derek
hey another Tech student, well I'll be damned, I've seen your car before. Anyways, from what I understand Automasters on North Main is about as good as it gets for sliding by, either that or the exxon. anywhere else will shaft ya.
p.s. who did ur headers? you or??
Derek 94Z28 07-25-2003, 04:08 PM Yeah the guy I was talkin about used to work at the campus Exxon, and he'd pass me cause he had a 84 Iroc-Z and was helping a Camaro brother out haha. I had a friend tell me that Harmon's Chevron in C-burg doesn't check much of anything, but we'll see I guess. I put my full Borla block-off plate in so that its real quiet now.....maybe they won't look underneath.
As for the headers, I had my mechanic back home in Appomattox do them. It was a couple years ago before I really had done much work on my car, if I were to do it again now I'd definitely do it myself. Hit me up on AIM sometime Izod (Number8in00). Peace,
Derek
rlax31 07-28-2003, 11:20 AM I'm in Annandale during the summer, and reside in Radford for when I'm at school. Any other Radford students on here?
I'm all up for getting a bunch of SW VA f-body's together when I'm back down at school. I frequent the car show friday nights in the Kroger parking lot in Radford.
While at home (4 more weeks) you can find me at the Annandale car show at the Juke Box Diner sponsored by the Mid-atlantic Camaro Club Friday nights. Also sometimes the car show off 234 in Manassas (sp?)

I'm about 15 minutes from Radford... I don't think I've ever been by Kroger's on a weekend night? I'll have to head over there and check it out one of these days. I have seen a couple of nice F-bodies in that area though :D
rlax31 07-29-2003, 08:05 AM Yeah, kroger parking lot on friday nights. I'm up here in NVA till late August, but I'll be there when school gets back in session.
