Question about PACE-OEM1 hooking up Amplifier

Ok, I installed my PAC-OEM1 in my car for my stock Monsoon stereo. It has preouts for both front and rear RCA outputs. I was just wondering how i would go about hooking up my amplifier with the RCA outputs.

When i do have my subwoofers going and change the balance from center to all the way to the left, then the subwoofers sound a lot louder. More thump...

So did i hook it up wrong or should i change where i connected the RCA cords for the amplifier. I hooked the RCA cables from the amplifier to the rear outputs for the PAC-OEM1.

Thanks

How old is your OEM-1 and where did you get it? They had a wiring error from the factory at one time where the balance control would not work right. There was a post about this awhile back in the electronics forum at LS1.com

From the LS1.com post....

As some of you know, the PAC OEM-1 has had problems with the REAR outs being summed to mono some where along the signal path. Karl from PAC gave me a call a couple of days ago to discuss my problem and he just posted this fix, or you can take a look here for a diagram of the fix:

Hi guys, just looked at a vehicle today and found the problem of the rear outputs of the OEM-1 not balancing. Our ADD-GM21C cable was made incorrectly. The two rear negative inputs to the OEM-1 have been switched. We will let our supplier know of the problem and future shipments of the ADD-GM21C cable will be corrected.

We will have a bulletin posted the first part of next week that will explain how to fix the wire harness.

If you guys are technical, you can just cut the grn/blk and purple/blk wires in half just before the 18 pin molex connector, but leave enough ***tail so you can solder/butt splice it to the opposite wire. Without a pin extraction tool, it will be impossible to remove the pins without damage, so just cut and resplice oppostire wires. If you did not understand what I meant, then wait till the bulletin gets posted on our website.

We apologize, and hope you will continue to recommend and use our products.

Thank you,
Karl

Ok, I found out that its not just the left side balance that increases the subwoofer loudness. If i transfer the balance to the right side as well they get deeper.

So right now i am trying to figure out the correct way to wire them up...As of right now i have the RCA outputs coming from my Brand New PAC-OEM1 unit into my amplfier. Then from there i have a dual 10' subwoofer system with dual voice coils. So i have 4 outputs on my amplifier (L+ L- R+ R-)

In my instructions of my amplifier it says that i can bridge the amp, but it only has a picture of one subwoofer hooked up. And the connections are connected to L+ R-. So what about the other 2 connections? Would i do the same for the other subwoofer?

Thanks

NO. When a 2 channel amp is bridged ALL subs are connected to the L+ and R-

OK, I found out my problem. I reversed the current on one of the subwoofers. My subwoofer layout is that i have dual 10" subs, but one is reversed, and the other one is pointing forward. They are in a plexiglass enclosure, so i guess they were just cancelling each other out.

Now they are so freaking loud they actually rattle every body pannel on my car.... But i dont drive around with them up that loud... :-)

Thanks guys
