I made sure I registered the very first day so I could set my schedule up just the way I wanted. I signed up for all night classes so I could find an internship or work during the day. Yesterday I got an e-mail 2 hours before class started at 6pm that my Wed. night Portfolio analysis class (fin 4514) was being moved to M/W at 7:30 AM:mad: Stupid Finance department.

heh, at least your not registered for the class but you can't get into a lab...

i wonder who had the brilliant idea to have 1/3 the slots needed for physics2 lab as there are physics2 students

when i went to ask about an over ride i got "your just going to have to take the lab during the summer" .....

I am glad to hear I was not the only one with UCF troubles when I went there. HA HA

I had to take resource geography, only offered spring, had to take 1 class before it, again only offered spring. Hmmm Figure that one out..

Glad it looks good to go to UCF to get a BA while you are already working in your career field...only problem being that you work 7-4 on M-F and night classes are your only option. Wonder why it is called U Can't Finish...

LOL! I am in class now, all the fancy crap in BA213, and we are using a projector onto the concrete block wall... teacher cannot even see what she is doing, they have a projector hooked up as a "monitor"

Last night I had to have my class moved... because of a overall power outage...

and this class is not expected to be fixed for weeks... SWEET!

i just got done standing in lines

left a class early at 11:25 to go stand in front of the math department offices for overrides that began at 12:00. there was already a huge line when i got there at 11:30. they opened early and were giving overrides starting at 11:45 and i didn't get up to the guy to get an override till 12:25...

then i got to run over to OASIS (cause the from was good for ONE day) and wait in that line.. stood there from about 12:35 till they finished my form at 1:30.

so yea, now i'm out of shivvamoggi's nazi style class and into some night class.

hehe knock on wood no lines so far for me this year... I paid tuition online, and luckily it took care of my $2.74 health fee that had my records on hold so no lines for me...

But I still have to fill out a Grade forgiveness.... so I probably spoke to soon...

hehe, we jsut had a break 2 of us already swapped our class, and 3 others are doing it as soon as they get back to a laptop :)

leaves about 13 people in the class...

You have to fill out a grade forgiveness? When does that have to be done by?

I think by the end of add/drop(tomorrow) check the academic schedule...

you have to fill out a form in the registrars office, across the hall from the payment office... at least it was liek 2 years ago when I filled out my first one...

find the sheet online, print it off, and then go to the registrar's office and drop it off. there shouldn't be a line, at least there wasn't one when i went.

they also have them printed off already in the OASIS office hanging on the wall as you go in.

they must be turned in before 5pm on FRIDAY

btw a quick tip you can print off anything form the ucf website including polaris if you go to those little kiosks online, so if you want a coupel copy of your schedules around and you are like me and don't have printer and don't wanna pay for it.

Or even sneak into some labs to do it....

If you're blaming UCF for not offering enough classes around a full-timer's schedule, that's pretty absurd. It's called U Can't Finish for other reasons, but mostly because students just take their time or fail and have to retake classes. I graduated from UCF this past December and I had a great academic experience while I was there.

Thats nice, I don't go there yet. I am weighing my options for this falls semester. Hearing stuff from friends and reading things such as this have given me an impression of the place. As I said, I am looking and weighing my other options for a BA.

UCF ranks equal ot other schools, it just is overall customer service is not there. It gets much better when your in grad school, but as an undergrad IMO your just another dollar and name. Small schools ..are much better IMO

You'll get the same customer service at basically any university because they're all getting their staff from the same type of labor pool.

If I'm not mistaken, UCF is the largest undergrad. school in FL, so they're going to naturally cater to that market to basically make it the best they can.

I disagree about small schools being much better. I went to a small private university for my first 2 yrs. of college and I can honestly say I wish I would have gone to UCF first. Private schools emphasize smaller classes, a better student body, more personal attention from professors, etc. In reality, most of the student body at these schools tend to be spoiled students with no work experience who will probably end up having a job dropped in their lap after graduation, because they're used to having it so easy, and being in a private school is no different, because they need to confer a good amount of degrees in order to be perceived as a prominent institution.

UCF is different from a smaller school because it's more challenging, which is what prepares students for the real world the best. Most students who go to UCF have work experience while going to school and they're the ones who excel the most. UCF also has a better name in an employer's eye as opposed to private institutions. I could go on. I know UCF has its faults, but its positives FAR outweigh its negatives.
