2005 Mustang Production Pics

I'm sure the cobra and other special models will look good. But that car there does nothing for me. I don't like it at all. I liked the concept version but that one looks way to plain. I like the current stangs better. Also i don't like the interior at all. C'mon RED?!?! Thats jmho though. It just doesn't look agressive at all. But its a stang, either way it will sell.

Ford really f34ked up the 05 mustang. The Concept was so beatiful matched from fender to fender...this new junk looks liek they tried to rework an 03 body and mak a retro design fit into it. Car doesn't even flow right... you'd got a choppy blocky looking front end...then you round the rear off? Ok WTF? Looks like ass..I feel the need to destroy mustangs now more than ever...this added to the hitlist along with the POS "Manaro" that they put GTO badges on. I hope the first shipments of these cars to the US fall off into the water and sink to the bottom of the ocean as they import them from Australia.

No matter how many times I see the car, I still hate it.

yeah, it seems most here are dissapointed that it deviated from the concept. Anyways, here are more pics. This is of a silver coupe with white stripes.

It's not that it's a bad looking car or anything...it's just that when Ford put the Concept out allot of people (myself included) fell inlove with it. Whe nthey put out the Production version..those little things we loved about the car in the concept were gone. So it's hard to like the car after seeing how much they took from what it could had been. I'm sure if Ford previewd that car and never the concept it would get better responses. But...that's not how it happend.

Yeah, i hear you...it had a lot more potential.

It will be interesting seeing how the Cobra comes out looking.

They both look nearly the same, and nearly as wierd.

what part of "concept" do some of you people not understand?did you expect the production mustang GT to be a 2-seater with a glass roof and 20+inch wheels with a 400HP engine?other that than showy "concept" interior and the cut of the doors and side scoops and quarter windows,it basically looks just like the "concept",and its a hell of lot closer than most other "concept" to production cars,if you don't like it,fine,great,if you hate it,great,but c'mon,open you eyes,they look damn close.

Agreed. The lines don't flow and the front end on the concept looked a lot better.

It doesn't even look like a muscle car to me.

And why is Ford so excited about finally breaking the 300hp mark in a GT? LOL!

I was still somewhat undecided on the new Mustang until I saw the side profile. Yeck! Can anyone say "JLo ass" ?

Look at the side profile pic, cover the ass of the car (everything behind the doors) and take another look.

IMO, great looking front end albeit not perfect. Then I take my hand away and wonder what happened to the rear. Its ass is huuuuge. Where the front end is nearly without overhang and gracefully slopes down to encompass the front wheels, the rear sticks way out and up. The overhang is horridly reminiscent of a Lincoln and it sticks up as if to say "look at me, I'm a Camry". Those quarter windows were an afterthought and don't seem to match any of the car's character.

Maybe I'm just jealous. Maybe I'm bitter. Or maybe I was asking too much in hoping that the only pony car offered in 2005 would be tastefully styled.

i don't know what your guys' major malfunction is. the new Stang is a beautiful, solid looking car.

Question for the Mustang guys: Will the GT be available with a foglight-delete option? If I was even interested in one, those rediculous things would be the first to be gone. It's got Subaru disease (fogs as big as the headlights ;) )

And yes, the short front overhang and too-large rear overhang are eerily similar to the other car that it's roughly based on--Lincoln LS.

Better looking than my SS. HAs a 4.6 soch that makes decent power. I wonder what a GTO vs '05 Stang would look like.

those Fogs in the Grill like that are a salute to the Shelby KR's ...funny they stole the fog lamps but dumped the rear tials...why?

Outside those dorky backseat windows on the sides(I'm sure an aftermarket company will sell louvers for them to make it look more like a late 60's fastback too),I like it better than the current Mustang,which isn't saying much-the current Mustang is nothing special as far as looks go.

they didn't steal anything from the '68 shelby KR,which actually had squarish fog lights in the grill.you could get round fog lights in the grill of mustangs from '65 to '68,mostly on the GT and they were standard across the board in '69.the '67 shelby was the only one with the fully round fog lights.

I really like the look of the new Mustang and enjoy the direction that Ford is taking introducing new and exciting model lines!

I think it would look better without the inner head lights and the spoiler. Who has photoshop?:D I have always been a fan of the fastbacks from the early mustangs to the late 60s Cudas. The Camaro and Firebird just had too much trunk for me.:p Now that I think about it, it might look better with the inner lights moved farther to the outside of the grill and put them closer to the reg headlights.

hey guys, i know it says this is my first post, but it's not. I'm not on here to troll. i used to be 30AnnivStang. I love camaro's so i'm not just trying to start shyt.

BUT the concept and production versions of the stang are virtually identical. they obviously had to make it a real world car. check out this thread http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=406954

The spoiler, the headlights, and the wheels kills the car. JMO.

Hey guys go buy a new Camaro. Oops, you can't and won't for at least 3 years. If you want a RWD V8 cpe. with 300 hp you ony have the mustang as a choice. Thats what everyone else thinks. We are car guys and we may wait. But the General public goud give a rats azz.

What's anyone's bet that the yellow paint and Boss striping is coming, along with the rear window louvres... I bet they "Larry Shinoda" this thing really quickly...

my big complaints about little things:

Paint the mirrors
needs smaller "fog lights"
do something differant with the side/rear window

about the fogs, do any fog lights help in the fog? just wondering if they actually did

but anyways, with the mustang's fogs, wouldn't they be too far up to help see in the fog
i always thought it was better to have the fog lights lower to the ground
