New pics of new Lincoln Convertible !!

Pic of the Lincoln version concept of the T-bird.

While Ford said the are killing-off the T-bird they are only going to reskin it and add retracting hardtop and bring back as a Lincoln.

Finally! A non-retro concept. Looks so much cleaner, more contemporary and nicer than T-Bird.

Very Nice but a little less retro would be better. Also I saw so many lincoln concepts in the past years, but no new lincoln car was built in that time.

looks good, they should build it. As long as they don't overprice it like the T-bird it should be a winner for lincon

Lincoln had all it's product plans ripped up and started over again from strach shortly after Jac Nasser departed Ford. Lincoln once had a restructuring budget of many billion dollars, and had a whole fleet of luxury cars which would have started hitting the street about now. But pretty much everything was cancelled, and now Lincoln is going to run with reskinnings and rebodied Fords.

With Ford running with what they already have for the next few years, it's no surprise (it's been a rumor, and now I guess it's true) that Lincoln will get the Thunderbird (in all but name) while the next Thunderbird is based on the new Mustang.

Based on just one person's info, this car will see production by 2006, but not quite looking like the concept.

Lincoln needs some new non SUV vehivles in their lineup. Something like this should be a shot in the arm.

Do you think the next-gen T-bird will become a coupe again and be styled like the Fourty-Nine concept from a few years ago? (thats what Im thinking).

What happened to Mark IX? Does Ford know how to count?

I doubt the Fortyniner will be the next T-bird, but I think it's going to be a given that it's going to likely be a coupe.

No word on it yet, and probably won't be till the current one's on it's last leg.

I don't know if reskinned Fords are going to cut it in the market. That being said, I like this car much, much better than the T-bird. It seems Lincoln is finnaly finding it's own style, especially with the interior. And thank god it is not another retro concept from Ford.

I can see it now, I'll be driving down the road and in the opposite direction one of those will be going by w/ 21" spinners and lights underneath. :blah:
