Anybody know if a LT1 crank will fit in a 96 chevy vortec 350 truck motor

yes, both a 1 piece rear main seal cranks. Just make sure you check the balance on them.

what do you mean by check the balance? the balance of the crank?

The crank balance has to be checked...ie, if the crank is externally balanced in the rear by using a weighted flexplate/flywheel (as they come from the factory), either you have to balance it using a counterweighted flywheel/flexplate or internally balance the rotating assembly and then match it with a neutral balance flexplate/flywheel. Though, if you are going to be building a whole new rotating assembly w/ fresh pistons/rods it will need to be balance anyway, so just make sure you have the correct flywheel balance to match.
