LS1 Edit - anyone interested in purchasing?

Hi guys,

I need to purchase the software, but it is $550 USD for a single license! :o

If we get 2 or more peeps (up to 4), the price gets more reasonable, down to $250 each for 4 people (each extra PCM is $150, total cost for 4 PCMs is $1000 USD).

Is anyone interested in jumping in? Has anyone already bought the software? If so, I could pay to add an additional PCM to your base package.

Also if anyone buys in, Matt and I will be happy to help you tune with it ;).

Ok so far its Perry and I, room for two more. I want to do this in the next week or two so the money will have to be ready ASAP.

$250 USD is the cheapest it can get, you cannot get more then 4 PCMs at once.

BTW this is first post first serve ;). Also, we will have to share the single cable that comes with it. Not a problem for me.

talk to chriss, i know for a fact he was looking into it as well, try him for sure

Also FYI LS1 Edit does not come with any sort of scanning software like LT1 Edit does (can't really call it scanning software, but i think you know what I mean). So if you want to be scanning your tune after you make changes you'll have to pick up additional software to do that also.

Yep I already bought EFILive for $316 USD :o. If anyone wants their car scanned I can do it, but I am going to charge a little $$$ to help recoup this cost.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep my hawk but I could go in on this deal. Do I need the auto-tap with the LS1edit? As you can see I don't know much about it except it's a great diagnostic and tuning tool. What else will I need besides a computer, does it have to be laptop? If I switch to corvette like you I'm assuming I can keep it. I'm I buying just the extra hook-up up to four or my own LS1edit? I'm definately interested. :)

Yo do not NEED autotap with edit, but it is good to have a scan tool. autotap isnt the only scan tool for LS1s but it is the cheapest available.

As for buying your vette, you will NOT be able to use your copy on the new car since the VIN # will be different.

I should just buy my own LS1edit and I'll let you and someone else tune for free off mine if you teach me how to use it. I can keep an extra peep for when I go C5. My only concern is what if I go C6? Then I'll need the new LS2edit. :( If I get a laptop boxing day then I'll consider buying the LS1edit and auto-tap. Slp had the auto-tap on sale recently and since it's the cheaper scanning tool and with exchange it will be a super deal. :thumb: :usa:

Draco, I have to run on a holding pattern for this purchase. Too many smokin deals on other stuff right now. Come springtime I'll want to do this deal. I wont even be driving my LS1 until then anyways. There's no boxing week special on the LS1edit so my choice was easy. Good luck if you go ahead now and enjoy your computer super-tune. :thumb:

Is there any point using LS1EDIT on a stock car?

Draco
12-28-2003, 02:05 PM
You can bump up your rev limiter (it is really a couple hundred RPM too low on a stock setup even), lean out the fuel mixture, bump up timing, eliminate skip shift, etc.

On a stock car there is 10-20 lb/ft of TQ to be had in tuning and around 10 peak HP.

I think is decent bang for the buck. If you go with a cam in the future, it becomes more of a necessity (or you can pay someone else bigger $$$ to tune it).

Amit, if you ever plan to change anything in the future, this will give you the option to do it. Unlimited alterations. And Draco is correct that there is some minor gains to be had from stock form. The true value comes once you add headers, etc...

So, we going to do this or not?

I've been asking around for about a full year now for someone to go in on Edit with me, and this is the first time there has ever been 3 of us. Top that off, the dollar is awesome. Let's order the dang system! I'm not keen on waiting too much longer, if you don't mind my honesty.

We could do it with three and get a fourth peep in later I guess...

Perry, you still in?

Maybe try contacting Johnny about Perry's intentions. I think JD may check the forum more regularly and talks to Perry...

Yeah, got to share the cable. Four users per cable (unless you get the tuner model which is thousands of dollars, unlike LT1). And I can imagine sharing with you would be a major B!tch... you'd hog the darn thing. Lmao! ;)

Just joking - you'd actually be decent to share with because you do have a good programming background with Edit, if I remember right.

Craig: I wasn't aware that you could actually send the cable back to have other VINs added. Are you sure about that?

I'm pretty sure that if you get your own cable, then you have to pay the full price and buy it on your own. I could be wrong though.

like chriss said if you want your own cable you have to buy it on your own. As for adding vins at a later date i remember getting a no when i asked that question to the guys at carputing but i could be wrong.

Chris,

Perry is out of the running.

Let's just go in me and you and it will cost $350 USD each. If anyone else wants in later, they can pay the $50 fee to add additional PCM's, and they can pay $150 for the additional PCM and pay us to equalize the average price.

If Payam or someone else wants to reserve a PCM slot now, they will have to pay up because I am not willing to pay for extra PCMs now. If you are willing that is your call :).

Also, we CANNOT buy an extra cable. The VINs are stored in the cable itself.

What say you?

Yes, sounds good Craig. Just let me know how you want to do it, if you want to place the order and I'll give you the cash, etc... Feel free to email me.
