alum. head lt1---biggest valve

whats the biggest valve you put in these heads
i have seen 2.02 in alum. and i have seen 2.055 in the irion lt1 heads.???

The valves on mine are 2.080 on the intake, 1.60 on exhaust. The afr 227's come with 2.100 on the intake, 1.6 exhaust

IMHO if you are going to rev very high I would not go over 2.02/1.60s. When high reving engines dont have enough material between the valves that material can crack.

I have 2.05/ 1.60 on my alum z heads.

AFR227's have 2.08 & 1.6 just like my AFR220's that are laying somewhere in my room, screw them, I'm using LT1 heads for my NA setup :) maybe save these for my turbo setup, & the 383 laying around is for turbo aswell, sucks to be broke & have no job, but its awesome to have santa around :)

Better check again, they have the valve size on there site I believe. Because of the bigger valve the intake valve is offset requiring custom pistons for the valve reliefs

I was going to say that.

With a bigger valve seat you can get a 2.08 valve in the LT1 heads.

Hmm. mine are 2.08's I even measured them, they are AFR220's, I have a motor they aren't going in has 31CC dished SRP pistons, so that shouldn't be a problme for valve reliefs :)
