I've searched but still confussed about some things. People have been saying that ths biggest valves to put into a stock Lt1 head is 2.02/1.6 on stock seats. That that mean no machining at all, just install the valves and that's it? I have a set of 2.08/1.6 AFR valves just sitting in my room. Can I install that without bringing the heads to get valve jobs and what not? I know I won't use them to its potential but will it flow less than stock valves since there so big?

BTW, I don't mind buying a brand new set of valves but I figure I'd use something that I have that's free to me

Anytime you install valves you should do a valve job, even if they are simply stock replacements. If you tried to install valves of a different size you would quickly damage the heads and then the valves.

anytime you change valve sizes you MUST do a valve job, period.
the largest valves you should install in stock LT1 seats are ~2.00/1.56(ish)

I think it depends on the quality of the valve job..amount of angles..proficiency. Average of 200 bucks or so for just the valve job?

I've seen the $200 number posted a few times for valve jobs, never had one done, though.
