LT1Squirrel 06-07-2004, 06:16 PM bringing back to life cuz im just about to do the same:thumb: unvc92camarors 06-07-2004, 07:13 PM i'm doing the same thing with my new (used) z28 i just got sae 80w-90 gl5 gear oil plus the gm additive (#1052358) which is what is reccommended for the rear end for the transmission, i believe i got just something dexron III or something something dexron III will be good enough for it i also heard i need a gasket an rtv sealant though to change the fluid? anybody know if this is true or not? Allen66 06-08-2004, 05:23 PM I went with Castrol for the rear-end lube. Wal-Mart and our parts stores didn't have a very good selection at the time, but I knew Castrol would be a good choice. I went with Pennzoil Dexron/Mercon for the trans, but I haven't changed it yet.
