Hi, I am trying to change out the rear seal on my tranny which should be an easy job. The old seal came out easy, but I am running into a problem with getting the new one in. I cant for the life of me get that thing to seat in there. I have been trying to get it in for 2 hours and have bent 2 seals. I have tried a big socket seated over the seal, as well as every other possible thing I can think of to get this thing in. It is like only 3/4 of it will go in and there is always one side of it sticking out.

It shouldn't take 5 minutes to get this thing in, but I am out of patience. I need to get my car running by Friday since I am going out of town.

If somebody could come by my house tomorrow to help me get this seal in, I will give them 20 bucks.

Thanks,
Charlie

I found this tool, that I think would maybe do the trick for me. Anybody happen to have one?

Finally got it in. Found a 4WD wheel bearing locknut tool that I used to beat it in with.

Just curious how long you've lived in Abilene...you in the AF?

Adam,

I have only lived in Abilene since August. Definetly not the most exciting place to live! I am not in the Air Force though, I am an insurance adjuster.
