Stevan won't have to worry about money , my money is going on Tony's car , and I'm sure we can get quite a few side bets going !! I have the third stage of spray hooked up now and my tranny is doing just fine , so Stevan might have more to deal with than he thinks !!!! Hopefully I'll have the new intake on and the 1.6 rockers also. And the weather is cooling off which makes for good racing conditions !!! :):)

We all know by now about steven's motor. Prolly a mid 12 car without N20. But most think he sprays around 300shot. :eek: That's why no one except Ed has tried to run him. Steven will definitely have a bad day if he races Tony and Ed on the same day though. I hope to be there when it happens.

Do not take my post the wrong way...I am good friends with Tony and know Ed. I am NOT a fan of Steven....but can appreciate a FAST car no matter who the owner is. And the truth of it is that his car IS. More so than what anyone there knows. Trust me. Only HE knows.

I was just saying what everyone has heard from a guy that knows the guy that built Steven's motor. Do you know what he has or what shot he's spraying? i think we have the engine locked down, but not the amount of squeeze. I'd like to know just to know, you know? As long as Tony is spraying I don;t really see a problem with him beating steven, do you? I don't know everything about Tony's car but have heard its a stroked 396 :eek: I know Tony and Ed through Reputation only but have seen Steven in action, he's just a turd when it comes to racing.

Believe me...I know what you mean...but this is his game. He loves to get under peoples skin to get them to play his games. As best as we (my friends up here in Houston and I) from seeing and taping his car at the track...it is roughly 200-250 shot of squeeze and roughly a high 11 sec car on the motor. The guy loves mind games. I know Tonys car runs good and so does Eds, but both of their combos are new to them...especially Tonys new automatic venture. This guy has had the 3spd auto with stall and all for a while and knows how to play HIS game.

well chris i think you are mistaken about stevan's car being a mid 12 car on motor more like a mid to low 11 car and then spray ... which is prob a 250 shot... it's definatly going to be a good race betweeen Ed/Tony and stevan

Tony and ED know that I know my stuff. I had the 92 yellow vette that used to roam the streets of BCS. My old 353 combo ran 137 mph with a 175 shot for over 5 years and never blew up. I would have been hard pressed with that combo to drive away from him on the big end. That is all I am saying. I have seen him put the HURT on 130ish mph cars and that is through an automatic trans. The warning was simply for them not to make it a money thing. We all used to be all about the competition, the friendship, and the enjoyment of just racing and shooting the sh-t. He is not about that. That is why he is under everyones skin. I take offense to "young-uns" trying to pull that crap down there. That is all.

My best run with an old motor was 131 mph , and that was with a 406 w/a flat tappet cam !! Now I have ALOT more cubes , a pretty big solid roller , and now THREE stages of spray !! When Stevan and I ran I was ahead by at LEAST two cars when my tranny went. I now have ALOT bigger motor , THREE stages of spray , and a solid roller cam !!!! I went looking for him last night with ALL three stages of spray armed and ready. He made two fly bys at hastings , and I went looking for him , went to the south end and played the Vulture gig waiting for him but no luck !!! My 131mph was on ONLY a 100 shot , so now with 250 more and 3.42 gears , my mph should go WAY up !!! He's gonna get spanked , it's just a matter of time before I catch him , AND I will , but it's gonna be on the street when he's least expecting it !!!! It's just a matter of time before MR. SMARTASS gets put in his place !!! :) :) Ed

you need to come over and see Daves Mustang he he he. they just finished backhalving it :D....the 31 inch tall ET drags look great under that stang...this car will trap in the 180'smph wise....this car will stomp anybody a nice muddhole in their a$$....best part, it will be street driven AND it will be done this fall....they just got the Dart block today :D I can't wait to see it run this spring race season....

My 131 trap speed was on a 100 shot and on street tires , LOT"S of wheel spin !!! I have a G-Tech and the ET was a 12.32. So the trap speed is the potential of the car !! Now I have slicks and THREE stages of spray , I'll have his ASS !!!! :):) Ed

Silver---You are so right. And this is not to start anything again, but there is a HUGE difference in running 130/ what ever trap speed you may run on a "G-Force" as opposed to at a TRACK. I have used those things in the past and they are NOT accurate. Depending on the surface of the road (how smooth or rough) and on the ride of the car during launch (wheel hop/spin) they can be thrown off tremendously. I have seen completely stock cars with G-tech/force run 113 mph trap speeds...then the get to a track and run 100-103. Just as Silver stated...you have been warned. And this once again...is not to start anything and definately NOT to side with Steven.

I am almost at a standstill until I get bigger mods, yes. But thats why I'm evaluating right now what I want to do. If I go second car, then I'll maybe improve the suspension, and do a few things to make it a good Auto-X car, and leave the dragging to the other car. If I go a hooptie second car, then I'll really improve on the Jetta, looking for very low times.

But for a brick wall; hardly.

Stock turbo, stock intercooler, stock fuel system, stock ignition system, stock differential (open), stock internals; all sorts of things to improve on if I decide to go that route.

Now, you try getting 1.6 60' without some 28" slicks on the back, and better yet, try doing it at a stoplight instead of a tree. Thats my only point. I have told everybody numerous times about how I don't really care about the track, and I am all about the street. That is what a Typhoon is for. I am NOT saying that I am going to get one. I am just saying that I am considering one. If I drive one, and it impresses me enough, and I think that it has enough potential, then I am going to get one. I was saying exactly what a dealership would say if one came in. Few know WTF a Typhoon is. A Syclone VIN is listed in the eval program, but Typhoons are not, and would come back as a 4x4 Jimmy.

That hooptie brick, which BTW was a joke, isn't better than my car. I enjoy my car, and am plesantly surprised by it. The interior is FAR better than any Typhoon or Syclone could ever hope to be, my safety ratings are well in excess of what your are.

My car does not have 50,000 miles on it, and I'd be willing to wager (could be wrong) that few Typhoons have that little on them, and if they do, it's signifies to me that it's been in the shop so much, it either is super-badass (not that low a price) or super hooptie.

I don't crack on your choice in vehicles. I've said many times I don't like it, but that's my opinion. I have been talking to Aaron about him wanting one, and that I don't think it would be a good idea, but never once have I said a damn thing, not joking, about the car you dont freakin' own.

I have been doing pretty good now. I was in dallas for the last year or so.....BUT....am now in Houston! The banana is doing well. I just havent had much time to mess with it and get the small bugs worked out. Glad to say that the old motor NEVER blew up and is still now sitting on an engine stand relaxing. As for the new one...it is in....and..as usual....I WILL get the small bugs worked out.....It is good to hear from some of the "old" guys out there from the good ol days. Cool, it won't be a typical rebuild though, I am going to have a mix-n-match of different bushings since no one type of bushing works best for every location, new springs, new shocks etc.

Just changed it and it acting worse now. It is starting to feel just like it used to be before I had the egr valve, maf sensor and optispark replaced. Anybody know if parts from dealer can be under warranty since I had them put on when my warranty was still valid.

u sure that you have the arrows pointing in the right direction on the fuel filter.
would suck to start replacing sh it and then find out it was the fuel filter backwards.

Don't know if you have ever installed a fuel filter before, but there is only one way to install the filter.

thats funny, because i just did mine for my 5.7l v8 Blazer and both ends are the same, just watch the arrows.
same for my 80Z28 and 82TA

I didnt edit his post, I acidentally edited it trying to quote him(Chikebak), then i noticed the mistake and went back to fix it,i explained the whole thing to Rob...I wasnt removed, Chikenbak suggested to remove me(after getting pissy about it), i agreed with him since I didnt like the board, and then Rob asked me to stay as moderator, i said no thanks..so technically i chose to be removed..and Chris expresed his opinion about it being a good board, I am expressing mine of it sucking a fat **** :D

Yup , I finally got to race Butthead , he showed up without his baby bottle and had to borrow one from someone else , I wanted to race "Man to Man " on the motor only !! But he HAD to have his precious BOTTLE , and AGAIN , the land thing !! So I consented and gave him a car lenght head start AND the leave !! Rick was in the car ( And we had a digital cam corder ) So on the start he got his precious car lenght head start AND I let him leave first !! I quickly caught up the two lenght head start that he had and started to pull on him in third gear. Just as I'm starting to pass him , he lets out and tries to clain the victory. we caught the whole thing on film and Rick is posting the race on Styleandspeed.com so that EVERYBODY can witness the outcome !!! It should be on the website tomorrow and everybody can see what really happened !!!!! I hope he has to eat ALOT of humble pie when the video gets posted !!! Ed :):)

And if Staven is so tough , then why won't he race "On the motor" !! I called it even cuz he had a two car advantage out of the hole and I caught up to him on the big end , and as for a second race , WHO would be STUPID enough to race a SECOND time through a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood ???? I like when people talk trash when THEY"RE not the ones risking the loss of thier car or JAIL time !!!!! I definately agree. At the track is the only way to settle this with many witnesses and timeslips. I REALLY think that Ed is going to win, and I want to see him get paid for it if they run for money. How does next aggie night at Navasota sound Ed? I am going to be there, and I can try to make sure that steven shows up.

it was for 50 bucks at first, then Stevan told Ed..."if you can promise me a run at the track for 500 bucks we can call it even tonight"...they both agreed...

the race had alot of "issues" but doesn't every street race????

Stevan had him out the hole BUT he was given land and the move...he got shaky and spun in second and Ed moved up...stayed there for a bit then at the end of the 1/4 Ed started to pull on Stevan harder and harder...

IMO their run at the track will be one helluva race! :bow:
