I was looking for a cheap buffer and came across this combo at Sears.
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00910715000
What do you think about it? I'm not looking to get anything expensive like a PC or similar since I will likely only use it a few times. Would I have problems getting good pads for these two? Where should I look for good foam pads for these two buffers? Are most of the buffers and pads universal in application as long as the size is the same?
Can anyone suggest another affordable buffer other than this one or the others in Sears line?
Thanks

The one on the Ebay listing is a Rotary direct drive unit, the sears is an orbital, two completely different types of buffers. The rotary is not for the inexperienced. Rotary buffers are made to develop speed and heat needed to remove excess clear coat as in orange peel removal. If you mess up with a rotary, you can mess up big time....
As far as orbital buffers are concerned you dont have to order anything, AutoZone has a decent 30 dollar orbital and the foam bonnets in stock to go on it..........

I don't want a rotary and figured the two buffers would be nice for different areas. Would pads be hard to find for these buffers or will most fit? What I am asking is, are most buffers universal in the pad applications or are they mostly specific to the buffer?
Thanks

Those orbitals use bonnets which are universal, 6 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, etc....

Is this Orbital buffer good to use with zaino. I know zaino is easy to remove and I spent way more on good towels but will I get a better shine with a orbital buffer? Kevin, ring in please. :)

A buffer with Zaino is not needed, it will waste more product putting Zaino on and really no difference in shine taking it off with a buffer.
