Does anyone run this cutout? I was just wondering about the install... slip fit means no welding right? Factory I pipe goes inside cutout on both sides, then drop some muffler clamps on top? Does anyone know?

Figure 50 bucks for the slipfit one vs 30 for one I have to have welded seems like a decent deal. The exhaust shops around here all seem to be tight a$$es with the whole modifying exhaust systems (illegal in NY)

Also assume I would need the 3" unit right?

Did a bunch of searches but didnt find anyone using this unit.

Don't know about slip-fit, but I assume they mean it to install as you say, with muffler clamps.

I got the $26 Summit brand one and had it welded in. Works just fine :) But the install cost $30, soo...

And yes, you need 3" size.

i highly doubt it will install as easy as you say it will

first off, the stock pipe is 2.75" so that's a quarter inch you'll have to make up...no way clamps will do that without leaking.

you're gonna have to have it welded if you want a decent job on the install

Is that 2.75" OD or ID? (too lazy to go lay on the 15 degree pavement and measure) If it is ID, then a 3" pipe should slip over no? They also make a 2.5" setup, although going smaller doesnt seem like a good idea to me.

To slip fit it, I would have to drop the rear section of pipe after cutting, and slide it back to get this on the I pipe.

My looking for an alternate solution isnt being cheap so much as I really called around to about 5-6 places and noone was interested in welding a cutout in for me. Not even afterhours for cash...
