What's your dream ride?

Alright guys this is sort of a poll. I'd like to know what car you would drive if you had around $60,000.00 to play with. This decision is not as easy as it sounds. Look at me, I thought my hawk would keep me happy for years! Here's what changed my mind. Corvette, need I say more. I know I should have bought one in the first place but C5's were very expensive last year. I couldn't quite afford a new one at the time and there were not many used ones and those were over-priced in my opinion. Now I know there are better cars than the vet but the reality of $$$$$ draws the line somewhere. Who wouldn't want an exotic car like a Ferrari or Lamborgini but it's out of my price range. Viper was a great suggestion but find me a good used one for sale? Just imagine the repair cost of these if one breaks down? I'm betting alot of you guys would spend half on a car and the other half on mods. That will produce great bang for the buck. I'm thinking I've almost enough to go for the 05 C6 although a loaded one is out of range unfortunately. I like a new or newer car that will run 11's or 12's with the mod ability to hit 10's. I also demand a great cornering car with awesome looks. What should I buy too? I've agreed to pay the differance of $10,000.00 US to trade up into a 493hp modded 02 Z06. That car is almost everything I want except the hard-top. So please pony up your horsepower and tell me what you would do and what you think I should do?

Im very happy with what I have right now. (But like you, who knows what Ill be thinking down the road. Until then Ill keep moving along as planned.) When the modding is finished Ill probably be hovering the 50k mark, give or take(probably give;) At that point, a stock vette should be easy competition in all three catagories. I know that if I can out handle, out accelerate, and out run a stock vette that Ill have one bada$$ machine.

I think you should go for this deal man. This is obviously a huge decision. You have probably been thinking about this 24/7......have you gone mad yet? LOL You only live once and besides, a modded vette with almost 500 ponies sounds like one f*ck of an awesome ride to me.

honestly for 60g if i had it, id buy several cars, id get myself a early 2nd gen and a LS1 camaro for daily. mod the LS! somewhat, make it a handling car. and go all out drag with my 70-73 camaro. thats my dream. or get a vette, but its just me, i cant justify all that money and have something that isnt modded out to the max.

as for the viper thing, a corvette has way higher build quality and is more of a refined car, a viper is a purpose built car, and doesnt have many creature comforts. if you dont like driving a stiff car, that has lots of interior noise and creeks and rattles then a viper isnt for you, cuz its only purpose is to look cool and go fast. kinda like my car:D oh and viper apparently has terrible bump steer, so you'll be fighting her down the road if its rough, cuz it likes to follow all the contours on the road, so no vancouver driving lol:cool:

10's easy, handles great, looks awesome, drop top.

1959 Cadillac hearse. Chopped top, flat black with classic hotrod flames. All the drive train and suspension components would be modern. Powerplant would be a fuel injected 502 big block. An impressive sq stereo system would be a must, as well as a beautifully crafted leather interior.

The name on the licence plate holder would read 'Dead Sled' :)

35 cdn.....good luck buddy......I look at the prices all the time ......since I will be in the market one day..... also the older u go in vipers....say the 92..... the more exspensive it gets....94s probably the cheapest year for the gen 1........(yes im talking about gen 1 vipers)

i just looked at them before i posted that lol and i have looked at them before found 3 within the 30g - 40g price range, all 90's with somewhat decent mileage. idk maybe its just Texas thats its cheap in

$60k ain't much (assuming you're talking CDN dollars). Won't even get you the lowest SLK + tax. If you want something decent, you'll need around $85k (that'll get you a Z06 or M3).

well you didn't drive a gts if it was a 95 because those didn''t come out until 96........a true gen 1 viper.....and the reason I say true is because the 96 was counted as a gen 1 and a half....so pretty much the 92 to 95 vipers were gen 1s.....these vipers had no airbags, side exhaust, zip in windows,no outside door handles and 400 hp.......and drumhawk im pretty sure the new vipers are over 100gs no problem......ive seen them in the buysell for 120,000cdn

The reason the 92-93 vipers are so expensive is that they were hand built and that there were very very few built.

Dream Ride that I'd like to own a feww years down the line: Replica Cobra 427 with a super charged 5L in it.

Dream ride now: My car in the 11's...next year I plan on retiring the "goldmember" from beater duty and buying somthing nicer. I'd like a Ford 150 Harley edition or a new Ram w/the stock 20's. The other option is that I would buy a solid 5L and make it into a nice corner carver. A friend of mine is heavy into the track days at Mission w/his C4 and he is turning me on to it big time! I figure a nice 90 hatch for about $6000-7000, then the typical bolt-ons and a Maximum Motor Sports "track-box" kit.

Sounds like my 1987 Sunbird (Goldmember):

Sunroof that has an "ejection" option
Rust holes that are refered to as speed holes (actually, they aren't holes)
One pop-up head light that doesn't go all the way up and makes it look like it's winking;)
"clear" window tint (condensation)
Also came with the "two" hubcap option

I actually like this car....its REALLY cheap to run, reliable and doesn't cause me any stress, so I souldn't complain. It's just ugly

My other choice would be a 96 + Viper GTS. That one at Linux you could probably get for high 60's. I drive by that dealership daily.

Its about the size and weight of a 4th gen f-bod, longer wheel base, and something like a 4.4L V8 that puts out 3xx something hp and tq. If BMW made a 4th gen f-bod, this is what it would be like.

Okay, small converts do look kinda look like chick cars, I can see what you mean from that. But a M3 coupe looks like no chick car!

The next gen 3-series will be dubbed 3 for the sedan models and 4 series for the coupe models (following the new BMW structure (even number for coupes and odd for sedans). So the current M3 will be replaced by the M4 and possibly a sedan version called the M3. The 6er is the nicest of Bangle's designs but it just doesn't look BMW enough for me. I'll stick with my E46.
