I have finally broken the 14 sec. barrier.:D Before tonight the car would run 14.2's all day long and never get any better. Well I guess it was just a good weather night, 60 F with about 75% hum. She cut a 2.100 60 ft. and ran a 13.933 @ 99.30mph. I know that it isn't much below 14 but I can now say that I have a 13 sec. car. Just wanted to share my story.

Congrats. Some headers and gears should drop at least another half second off those times.

Feels good huh. I remember the first few times this season I though I would hit 13's for sure. But 90 degree weather would only allow for 14.0's soooooo close. Then finally had a cool 70*night and ran a 13.7@99. That felt so great! Then I wanted 100mph. I hit 102.5mph on 55* night at Stanton on the 75 shot.
That cool dense air is good stuff. I myself am gettin rady for a 12 sec pass on the stock 4.3l longblock this spring. It just never ends. I am not gonna give it long before your fightin for 12's:D !

Dude congrats on the 13. But you need to put a gear in the car, that is hurting. You if would have had a gear in the car you would have done it a long time ago.

Thanks for all the replies guys. The next mod will definately be some headers and gears. After that cam:D . I must say that it still is a good feeling breaking 14 sec. To bad it sucks that the season in Gainesville is over. This is the perfect weather for Florida, and the track is now closed until sometime next year. Oh well hopefully by then I will have more mods to help me get lower.

B4 headers and gears, get a set of DRs...if your going 13.93 on a 2.1 second 60 foot...the car has the potential to go 13.60s or so with a decent launch....congrats on the time...i remember how excited i was when i first went 12.96.;)

keep racin...

It seems like 13s is the big one for everyone, after that going fast just seems natural.

congrats on the new p.b !!!
all i can say is each new second is a great feeling! i don't care whatn anyone says, going faster each time isn't neutral, try a 9 sec. pass for example! it feels great! i personally don't care if the car runs 13's or 9's it is still a blast!!!! my wife's car is quite consistant and has run a best of 13.49 @ 101.2mph

good selection of mods though, i did the same thing!

Congratulations man. It always feels good when you meet your goals. A nice stall and 3.73's will put you in the low 13's. Good luck.

Congratulations!

I will try to accomplish the same thing as you next season. ie hitting 13's on a stock (or very close to stock) LT1 car. Best I could manage this summer was mid-low 14's, but that was at my first time at the race track... ever.

GOD, aint that the truth, all in the quest for speed, lol. My wife is still telling me "this isnt a race car, we wern't suppose to do this to THIS one" (again, i got a habbit of doing this to cars) Prorac1
