New 1st gen bodies ?StoveBolt 12-05-2003, 08:36 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2446735507 talos 12-05-2003, 08:39 PM probably what it says.... its a new shell. 93formula 12-06-2003, 03:03 AM looks damn good, cool idea. but what about the vin? how would i register a vehicle that i built in my garage? talos 12-06-2003, 03:11 AM same way as if u built a kit car, u would have to get it inspected then reg. 93formula 12-06-2003, 03:14 AM you can do that? theres something i didnt know. hell i should build kit beemers and benzes;) jg95z28 12-07-2003, 10:15 PM The only catch is if you build it from scratch its considered a 2003 car... which means it might have to meet newer regs in some states. Its a great way to go for a race car that will never see the street. 93formula 12-07-2003, 10:19 PM im a bit confused, most kit cars are built on older chasis, like third gens and fieros. i didnt know you could build a car from scratch. Knowklew 12-07-2003, 10:22 PM Invalid Item..... 93formula 12-07-2003, 10:25 PM they probably took it off because they were just advertising, stating do not bid etc. talos 12-08-2003, 03:08 AM probably... but if u had the budget it would be so cool, to take a few yrs and build a total custom/trick 1st gen StoveBolt 12-08-2003, 09:05 AM i think it was these guys but i don't see it on their site.. http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com 93formula 12-08-2003, 10:46 AM it from them i emailed the on e aby with this question: i really like what you have done, i have a few questions regarding assembly, how hard would it be to assemble? also how would i register this car? or owuld i have to buy a rusted out 69 and switch it over? and this is there answer: All you do is bolt on all of your accessories. This body panel is for rust repair and meant to replace your rusted out panel. Thank You, The Parts Place so i dont know i fyou can build a complete car from it, but from their add on e bay, thats what they were leaning to from my point of view. jg95z28 12-08-2003, 11:57 AM The only problem there is it is illegal to remove or replace a VIN tag. Therefore how are you going to be able to legally register the car? extreme79z 12-08-2003, 12:24 PM I think they are just wanting you to buy a rusted Camaro of say 1969 model year... Then replace all the rusted panel with their panels. Thus the car is still a 1969 Camaro, just it has new panels rather than the old rusty ones. StoveBolt 12-08-2003, 02:10 PM right.. its just a body .. u would need a donor car and as for the vin number just cut it out an inch or so around it and metal finnish it in .. SB.. (hope the cops aren't lurking) Whistler 12-09-2003, 10:40 AM Technically it wouldn't be illegal if you had a rusted out Camaro and the only good piece in it was the doorjamb area with the VIN tag... and you were just replacing the rusted metal.... :) jg95z28 12-09-2003, 12:23 PM Originally posted by Whistler Technically it wouldn't be illegal if you had a rusted out Camaro and the only good piece in it was the doorjamb area with the VIN tag... and you were just replacing the rusted metal.... :) Actually, it would be illegal... at least in most states. | ||
