What the hell are Petroleum Distillates and what do they do?

I have pretty happy with this Eagle One Wet polish and wax but I was wondering if there is anything else out there BESIDES ZAINO that is pretty good. I am looking for a change. I checked out the price on Zaino and right now with a wife in college, I just can't afford to spend that kind of money for the whole kit.

Your thoughts on
Liquid Glass
Mcguiers (sp?)
NuFinish
Prestone synthetic wax
others???

I had the best non-Zaino luck with Meguiars. It's a bit more work, but works pretty good.

Petroleum Distillates are in ALL waxes and polishes for the most part, the wax would not work without them. They are solvents basically, some cleaner waxes like the Eagle have a lot and some only have a smidge.

BTW, Zaino is not highly priced, to have what you have now all you need is basically Z-1 8.95 and Z-2 12.95 and that would be good for 16 to 20 coats so that is pretty cheap per coat. You do not HAVE to get the entire kit by any, any means....
