Post-dumping... (you know, the "well I saw it cheaper on X")

I think this is a great idea. Mods, is there any way you could enforce that policy on this board?

This is a good idea, but then again I have seen people try to charge more than new prices on used parts, or people who don't have a clue what something is worth and throw out a way high price.

I hate to see people get ripped off, and if you are new or not paying attention there is a chance to get ripped, more so on places like ebay, but it does happen here too.

That is my thought on the subject...

i believe this is already in the posting guideline sticky on the top of the page
but, you do realize it is almost impossible to enforce because this board moves so frequently, and with only 2 people trying to check every post...aint happening
but, if i see it, i try and p/m the "post-crapper" and let them know the guidelines of the board, or if you wanted, i guess you could use that "report this post to moderator" button

its a good idea but as kris said some people just put prices on stuff that you could buy at a parts store cheaper. i see a lot of this especially on ebay. people are bidding like $100+ on used edelbrock performer intakes that can be baught new for $120 (and shipped for free if you buy it threw summit) and i just shake my head and laugh.

The only reason for someone to make a post about the price of an item being sold is if they are truly interested in buying it and their post is their way of making an offer on the item.

If they are not interested in the item, it is not their place nor their business to say anything.

You don't go to a car dealership and tell the salesperson that you saw it cheaper on another lot when you aren't looking to buy the car in the first place.

And yes, feel free to use the "Report this post..." link when this arises.
