OC tomarrow?

Mike Lapp was running very good today. he went 10.44@128 before i left.

i hit 10s on motor first pass out. before i got much tuning done it spit out a wheel/tire/axle/braking assembly though and did quite a bit of damage :(

greg was there with the Celica :rolleyes:. he could have had a 12.1 today

Pics man! Pics!! Man it's good to hear about that motor finally puttin down numbers that you SHOULD be happy with. lol Sucks to hear about the cosmetics though. That's awfully weird, last week a 69 Chevelle did the same, no body damage though.

Well, I look foward to seeing all of you out there next year along with my f-body;)

Cass MI here. Not IN but just north of Granger. MI members in this area are 'slim-pikins'

My car is pretty plain looking. Red 94 with stock wheels. Does have a Borla and a few stickers. A TireRack sticker on the wind sheild and a Hoosier racing tire on back and a couple SCCA stickers on the side. Its not to be ricey though. They are series sponser stickers for the Solo 2 that I do.

My car may not be that fast in a strait line but the suspension mods/tuning with 315 R compounds at all 4 corners make for a heck of a ride.

I will have to meet up with some of you guys next year. I'll even try to talk you guys into going to a few autocrosses.

Actually I will probably be at OC next spring. After I break in the engine I am going to make a few runs just to see what it does campared to what it did.
I ran a 13.9 at 101 year before last. I have since switched to a 3.42 gear from a 2.73. I am swapping in a T56 with a lightweight SLP flywheel.

The engine is a nearly stock rebuild. .030 over forged pistons. Milled head gasket matched balanced blueprinted. That is about all that is allowed.

BTW do any of you know if there is a place near hear who does header coatings?

Tefco in Niles does cereamic coatings, thats where pretty much all the drag guys around here get headers coated at. ill try to come up with a phone # for you

I have had alot of stuff going on this winter. I have not had a chance to work on the car like I was hoping.

So I need help ASAP. Is there a place in the michiana area that can be trusted to remove an engine? Alot of the work is already done. But I am at the point where I know I can not get it done in time. I need to have the new engine broken in by the begining of May.

I dont want to spend an arm and a leg, but need someplace now.

BTW has anyone used Ultra Tech Race Engines. They are in Mish or SB. The maching work prices seem pretty good an I was going to go with them.

Ultra-tech does good work. they are on Byrkit street in mishawaka.

as for the engine removal and installation, i work on quite a few F-bodys and could do it but i dont think i have time right now with all the projects ive got going on. if you want i could give you the phone # of my buddy down the road from me who could do it and you could see what he has to say about price etc. he is starting his own shop right now on the side (Vande Racing). he does really great work. btw, he also does engine building and machining himself now and might be able to make a deal on doing yours. the only thing he cant do is the balancing, which he takes to Shaker. he would probably be willing to beat Ultra-tech's price, but i dont know, you would just have to see what he says. email me if you are interested and ill give you his number and you two can talk things over. thanks

i run at US41 and Osceola. i also usually cruise up to 20 for a while on friday and saturday nights when im not at US41 racing. weather this weekend is going to suck

ya the weather did suck. anyhow, i go to 20 a lot on friday and satureday nights and will be headed out to OC a few times as well this summer to try my luck at the 16s :p check the sig pics and if u ever see me say hi sometime. my truck is hard to miss really...big, red, and loud--the way a truck should be :D

Hey Darren how's the car running since you've put it back together now. Are you going to 41 this Wed?

i dunno, i just fired it up for a couple seconds to make sure it sounded ok and threw it on the trailer to take to OC which was closed. its still sitting on the trailer untouched. valve lash is probably off since i just did that real fast myself before i put the girdle on since i was in a hurry

i was planning to hit 41 tomarrow if i get off work in time. just checked the weather and it looks good so ill take the car to work and see how the route goes. not sure if they will bother to prep the track for an early year wednesday night T&T though. they got rain the last few days too so it will be real green :(

hit OC last night. barometer was pretty crappy and traction was horrible even by OC's standards. went 10.64@127 NA. Baber ran a 11.59@119 on motor. think Greg/Derek's best was 12.59@106?

oughta be pretty cool tonight, and the barometer is rising right now, so i might hit 41 this evening. hopefully they will be running brackets
