Frank95z 11-30-2003, 01:51 AM Most of you folks know my setup. Lt1 stockheads, boltons,na street car. Today I got a slightly new best. I ran at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana the temperture was 60 degrees with low humidity and a decent baro. The Da was -26 ft. I ran 11.40 116.59 with a 1.483 60ft. Car weight was 3195 with me in it.
Man, awesome times Frank, that car is hooking!
Frank95z 11-30-2003, 02:03 AM Thanks 96z Now if I can only run in some of that -1800 ft Da that we get here sometimes. I think I can put the streetcar stockhead Lt1 na record in the 11.20's. :D Frank95z
Very  What kind of flow numbers are you getting out of those LT1 castings? If you don't mind telling. :)
Frank95z 11-30-2003, 11:46 AM Kain my heads are stock unported I had them flowed at Thunderracing and they flowed 185 intake 150 exhaust then I went to a different flowbench and they flowed 205/160. I am still trying to maximize the stockhead /baby cam setup before I go the ported head/big cam route. Frank95z
That's awesome, congrats!
At what rpm does that cam make peak hp? Your cam is small based on what some others are running, how is the lope and driveabilty?
Thanks
Frank95z 11-30-2003, 01:14 PM Based on the dyno the cam makes power to 6200. Thats where I shift it also. Has a nice mild lope at 210/224 with a 112 center. Very drivable and street friendly. I still get 20mpg on the highway. Frank95z

LSs1Power 12-01-2003, 03:08 AM Very nice, whats the race weight and what did the car put down to the wheels?
Frank95z 12-01-2003, 08:04 AM Raceweight was 3195# and I put out 331rwhp thru a unlocked Vig3200 and a 12bolt. Frank95z
Shon Herron 12-01-2003, 10:15 AM Very sweet. I would like to know the secret of getting the small cam to run like that. I was hoping i could get the HOT cam down in the 11.9s but I am almost tired of trying. looking at larger cams and more head to get there....congrats!!!!
95Bird 12-01-2003, 11:48 AM congrats frank. That thing is moving..as usual.
everyone..the secret is frank. He has been tunning..and testing..and optimizing this thing for a long time. His car just goes to show that its not just throwing parts at something that makes you go fast.
94GrayV6 12-01-2003, 01:12 PM Nice job, that is incredibly fast for your mods.
Ken95Z28 12-01-2003, 01:37 PM Dang it, wish I was there :(
Congrat's on the run.

don't you have one of those things you put your car on and pull it around the country on? I don't know what to call it because I've never used one myself;)
Ken95Z28 12-01-2003, 05:59 PM Yup, I got one of those.
It's just 635 miles to there and another 635 back. :D
I know I can get there in a day time, about a 10-hour drive.
If I know the DA is going to be good that evening or the next day I would consider it just soley to get a good number. I would love to see a -1000 foot day, talking about a run. Weeeeee.
Frank95z 12-01-2003, 07:16 PM Ken when you and I ran you were about .06 or .07 faster. I've found another .04 (and am not telling) since then. It could have come down to the tree and I had a .019 light:D We run Friday Dec.12 and Saturday Dec.13. come on down if the weather forcast calls for mid 50's and I'll promise you 11.20's. Tim thanks for the compliments the checks in the mail:D Frank95z
faded93bird 12-01-2003, 08:41 PM Awsome times, congrats
Are you locking up your converter on the top end?
Faded
Frank95z 12-01-2003, 09:08 PM Faded 93bird I am not locking my converter. Frank95z
Camaro_Guru16NY 12-03-2003, 10:29 AM Dude, those are awesomt times man for your set up. Congratulations once again.
Later,
-John
scott9050 12-03-2003, 02:57 PM Great time. I wish I could run in conditions like that. Every time I went to the track it was 90 degrees or above and traction sucked.
94GrayV6 12-03-2003, 05:12 PM What gears are you running?
neil350 12-03-2003, 07:07 PM Maybe y'all boys should venture out to Houston, going to be 27 degrees Friday night :D
Neil
Frank95z 12-03-2003, 09:09 PM 94grayv6 I run 3.73 gears and I was running 26x10x15 ET drags last weekend. Neil I'm running next Wednesday,Friday and Saturday at NPR hope to have good air one of those days. Frank95z
SAR2K 12-07-2003, 05:09 AM  Congrats on the 11.40 Frank!!! I just saw this one. Hopefully I'll be done with 12hr days soon so I can have a life again AND get to the track!!! Congrats again buddy!!!
Steve...
Antz97ZNJ 12-07-2003, 06:26 AM great times , over a 1/2 second better then ive ever seen w/ those mods
kevkop94TA 12-07-2003, 03:45 PM Awesome times on the pansy cam Frank. :D :p
J/K man, those are some sick times for stock heads. I'd love to hit those times with heads + cam in the future.
Fast Caddie 12-09-2003, 12:10 PM Originally posted by Antz97ZNJ

Gotta love a great suspension and light weight  . Frank's car has about a 4-500lb lighter raceweight than most cars with his setup. That's worth 4 or so tenths right there. I'd love to see what a CC305 or 306 would do in it. :hint hint frank: :)
Frank95z 12-09-2003, 07:02 PM Maybe Comp cams will send me a new cam to try for Christmas. Hint Hint :D Frank95z

Sweet, are you going to run it with the stock heads first or are you going to do both H&C at the same time?
Frank95z 12-11-2003, 12:13 AM No fast caddy I don't want to confuse you. You said I wonder what Franks car would run with a 305 or 306 cam. And my reply is maybe Comp Cams will send me one for Christmas. If and when I change cams I'm sticking to stock heads. Now if any cam company would like to send me one to try i'm open:D Frank95z
faded93bird 12-16-2003, 01:50 AM Why change something that works so well ? I mean the car is proof that bigger is not always better.
was wondering if you would like to possibly share your weight loss plan?
LT1ponykilla 12-16-2003, 02:20 AM Thats sweet man.
atljar 12-24-2003, 03:17 AM You need a 847 cam. If i was hooking like that and wasnt full weight, oh wow  I dont see why 10s wouldnt be in sight with stock heads.
funina91ss 12-25-2003, 09:28 AM Frank how are you leaving the line in that? If I rember right you took out the A/C too right?
Sweet times:eek: I need to gut mine a little but I will not let the A/C go. 1 more question do you have a rollbar? If not your cheating ;)
Sean
Frank95z 12-26-2003, 11:16 AM Funina91ss I did remove ac but not heater or defroster. I leave the starting line 2 different ways. When I bracket race I stall up to 1500. That method gives me the best reaction times. To run fast i leave off of dead idle. The suspension seems to work better this way with no preload. I do have a rollbar,5 point harness, driveshaft loop, steel stems, firejacket and Snell 95 helmet. So I am legal:D Frank95z
funina91ss 12-26-2003, 11:29 AM I had you mistaken for someone else sorry:o Nice weight in #'s with a Bar in it:eek: Your car must hold a few records mainly the 60ft for a stock heads and bottemend car with no poweradders. But that might have alot do with your cam being smaller it pulls harder down low I bet. either way You have a great combo that works. My hats off to you. :)
Frank95z 12-26-2003, 12:14 PM Thanks I just weighted my car today. I found a few pounds it weighed 3165 with me in it. I weigh about 175#. The car also has a 12bolt rearend with HD posi. Frank95z
SAR2K 12-26-2003, 07:15 PM Wow Frank, that titanium block & PVC roll cage really helped out!!!
Frank95z 12-26-2003, 08:59 PM Thanks Steve for loaning me your 3 in. holesaw:D Frank95z
Victory Racing 12-27-2003, 06:28 AM By stock heads are we meaning LT1 heads that have been ported and re-valved/jobbed , or are we saying completely un-touched LT1 heads the way they came from the general??
atljar 12-27-2003, 11:52 AM They mean untocuhed heads, no valve job, no milling, no porting, acid porting, polishing etc. :D
Frank95z 12-27-2003, 11:11 PM What atljar said unported,no milling,no polishing,no acid, no epoxy, but these heads that I have now have a new stock angle valve job. Frank95z
97WRAITH 12-30-2003, 07:52 PM That is incredable Frank great job. What are the specs on your cam and what does your suspension consist of?
Rob.
Frank95z 12-30-2003, 10:10 PM 97Wraith My cam is the Crane 210/224 cam. And my suspension is stock including torque arm, control arms, shocks springs. I did remove both sway bars (dogs know better than run out in front of me) and added a airbag to the right rear:D Frank95z
97WRAITH 12-31-2003, 08:08 AM Frank I was refering to lift and lsa.:)
Rob.
blkchevyz 12-31-2003, 09:57 AM how did you get it so light?
blkchevyz 12-31-2003, 10:05 AM and whats it weight without you in it
Frank95z 12-31-2003, 02:47 PM My cam is 479/518 lift with 1.5 rockers and 510/552 with 1.6 rockers.I run 1.6 rockers. Weight is 2990 with me out of car with helmet and jacket in car. Car is a hardtop car that started out light. I have removed the normal things like rear seats, passenger seat(for racing only),spare and such. I've also removed a/c(but not heater/defrost) bumper supports, passenger airbag, and run lightweight wheels. Frank95z
