New Lt1 Stockhead best

Most of you folks know my setup. Lt1 stockheads,boltons,na street car. Today I got a slightly new best. I ran at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana the temperture was 60 degrees with low humidity and a decent baro. The Da was -26 ft. I ran 11.40 116.59 with a 1.483 60ft. Car weight was 3195 with me in it.

Very :cool: What kind of flow numbers are you getting out of those LT1 castings? If you don't mind telling. :)

Kain my heads are stock unported I had them flowed at Thunderracing and they flowed 185 intake 150 exhaust then I went to a different flowbench and they flowed 205/160. I am still trying to maximize the stockhead /baby cam setup before I go the ported head/big cam route. Frank95z

At what rpm does that cam make peak hp? Your cam is small based on what some others are running, how is the lope and driveabilty?

Based on the dyno the cam makes power to 6200. Thats where I shift it also. Has a nice mild lope at 210/224 with a 112 center. Very drivable and street friendly. I still get 20mpg on the highway. Frank95z

Very nice, whats the race weight and what did the car put down to the wheels?

Raceweight was 3195# and I put out 331rwhp thru a unlocked Vig3200 and a 12bolt. Frank95z

Very sweet. I would like to know the secret of getting the small cam to run like that. I was hoping i could get the HOT cam down in the 11.9s but I am almost tired of trying. looking at larger cams and more head to get there....congrats!!!!

congrats frank. That thing is moving..as usual.

everyone..the secret is frank. He has been tunning..and testing..and optimizing this thing for a long time. His car just goes to show that its not just throwing parts at something that makes you go fast.

Yup, I got one of those.

It's just 635 miles to there and another 635 back. :D

I know I can get there in a day time, about a 10-hour drive.
If I know the DA is going to be good that evening or the next day I would consider it just soley to get a good number. I would love to see a -1000 foot day, talking about a run. Weeeeee. :bow:

Ken when you and I ran you were about .06 or .07 faster. I've found another .04 (and am not telling) since then. It could have come down to the tree and I had a .019 light:D We run Friday Dec.12 and Saturday Dec.13. come on down if the weather forcast calls for mid 50's and I'll promise you 11.20's. Great time. I wish I could run in conditions like that. Every time I went to the track it was 90 degrees or above and traction sucked.

What gears are you running?

Gotta love a great suspension and light weight :cool: . Frank's car has about a 4-500lb lighter raceweight than most cars with his setup. That's worth 4 or so tenths right there. I'd love to see what a CC305 or 306 would do in it. :hint hint frank: :)

No fast caddy I don't want to confuse you. You said I wonder what Franks car would run with a 305 or 306 cam. And my reply is maybe Comp Cams will send me one for Christmas. You need a 847 cam. If i was hooking like that and wasnt full weight, oh wow :bow: I dont see why 10s wouldnt be in sight with stock heads.

Frank how are you leaving the line in that? If I rember right you took out the A/C too right?

Funina91ss I did remove ac but not heater or defroster. I leave the starting line 2 different ways. When I bracket race I stall up to 1500. That method gives me the best reaction times. To run fast i leave off of dead idle. The suspension seems to work better this way with no preload. I do have a rollbar,5 point harness,driveshaft loop,steel stems,firejacket and Snell 95 helmet. So I am legal:D Frank95z

I had you mistaken for someone else sorry:o Nice weight in #'s with a Bar in it:eek: Your car must hold a few records mainly the 60ft for a stock heads and bottemend car with no poweradders. But that might have alot do with your cam being smaller it pulls harder down low I bet. either way You have a great combo that works. My hats off to you. :)

Thanks I just weighted my car today. I found a few pounds it weighed 3165 with me in it. I weigh about 175#. The car also has a 12bolt rearend with HD posi. Frank95z

By stock heads are we meaning LT1 heads that have been ported and re-valved/jobbed , or are we saying completely un-touched LT1 heads the way they came from the general??

They mean untocuhed heads, no valve job, no milling, no porting, acid porting, polishing etc. :D

What atljar said unported,no milling,no polishing,no acid, no epoxy,but these heads that I have now have a new stock angle valve job. Frank95z

97Wraith My cam is the Crane 210/224 cam. And my suspension is stock including torque arm,control arms,shocks springs. I did remove both sway bars (dogs know better than run out in front of me) and added a airbag to the right rear:D Frank95z

My cam is 479/518 lift with 1.5 rockers and 510/552 with 1.6 rockers.I run 1.6 rockers. Weight is 2990 with me out of car with helmet and jacket in car. Car is a hardtop car that started out light. I have removed the normal things like rear seats,passenger seat(for racing only),spare and such. I've also removed a/c(but not heater/defrost) bumper supports,passenger airbag,and run lightweight wheels. Frank95z
