New engine install......

I'm getting ready to install my engine in the 1981 Firebird, here is the specs:

350 bored .040
10:1 Speed Pro Hyper's
Comp Cams XE274H
1.5 Aluminum Roller Rockers
"462" Double Hump Heads 2.02/1.6 Screw In studs ported
Performer RPM Aluminum Intake
Holley 750 Vacuum Secondary
B&M Holeshot 2400
TH350

What do you guys think of my engine and I still gotta get the headers? Also, I left it on the engine stand when I went to Pakistan for 3 months, so it has been sitting newly assembled NEVER turned over for almost 4-5months. Should I do nything special besides the normal first start procedures?

If you experience that it doesn't pull hard out of the hole, you may look at that converter. It's going to be on the mild side.

Other than that, sounds like a good combo. It'll have to be better than the V6! Good luck.

That combo sounds nice.
I don't know how well those heads flow. If you did a flow test and matched it to the cam you chose, then you are good! If not then you are just taking a somewhat educated guess on whether or not the cam is going to perform well when matched to the heads. If it is a good match then I can see that car running in the 13's. I don't think you will have any probs with starting that thing up after letting it sit. Just prime it good.

I think it sounds like a pretty good combo, although as Study Time mentioned, that converter is a bit mild for your cam. It will probably be more drivable/street-friendly with the smaller stall, but I would imagine a 3000 or so would better take advantage of the cam. My cam is slightly larger than yours, and with my old 2400 stall the car kind of sucked at WOT and low rpm. At half throttle it was fine, though. With my 3500 stall it's much better at full throttle, but it's certainly not as fun to cruise. Unless I'm flooring it. :) I guess it depends on what you want the most. :)
