sounds like the current Regal. (which i guess is good since this is what it's being replaced by) but that 200 hp engine better be the base engine, especially when you have the Bonneville, GP, and Impala coming out with about 285 horses in the next couple of years.

I agree, an optional 250HP+ V6 is a must.

Anyone ever notice how the LaCrosse concept and the Chevrolet SS concept (by body style only) look like they could be designed on the same body structure?

6 window greenhouse, semi-fast back, similar rear-end structure. The drivetrain & chassis of both concepts aren't production, and aren't meant to be. While the LaCrosse is about mid-size, the SS design is about a scale or 2 larger. The SS concept is also known to be an exageration of a soon to be production design.

Yet both LaCrosse concept and the Chevy SS concept look similar in sheet metal and greenhouse layout, minus the front clip & rear end.

Now....... can anyone tell me, why that is? ;)

Wouldnt the LaCrosse be a contender for the 5.3? It is an Impala/GP, after all...

I think VE and Sigma mass/sigma lite/modular or whatever you want to call it, are different. VE is the V-body update. I could be way off on this though...

You forgot the biggest LaCrosse news: they will be giving it a different name in Canada because lacrosse is slang for masturbation in quebec :D

"Sigma-lite", "Sigma-mass", Holden's "VE" chassis, GM's modular RWD chassis.

They are all the same thing. :)

Camaro apparently is not exactly a coupe version of this chassis, but it's likely to use many the same chassis components, and it's quite possible it could be built on the same assembly line.

So will Camaro and the next GTO be absolute mechanical clones under the skin.....or will they vary mechanically?

I think they'll be.

I also have a feeling that these 2 (especially the f-body)progressed separately from the rest of the "sigma-mass" effort.

why don't you make the current news on the front page public, for everyone to read and leave the old, archived news and the message board to be member only. that way those who just want to get the info will hit up your site and get their fix and those who want to interact with the members or dig up info can sign on and do that too.

i registered for your site, but i can't be bothered to sign on, especially since the links from the front page don't take you directly to the article anyway. its a mess to navigate.
