Yo buddy. That sucks. i TOO have my car in the shop at the moment for an all out tune up. I am replacing the opti.. Damn good timming too.. cause as i looked at it today.. the water pump started to leak onto it.

anyway.. the shop I am at Is awsome. the guy there is no joke, most honestly, inexpensive mechanic I have ever met. He always uses preformance parts and does repairs at more than a fair price. YOu wouldnt believe the DEAL i am getting for all that is getting done to my car. He more than HAlved what the dealership quoted.

the shop he owns is called "the muffler man"

anyway.. today when I orderd the opti through the mechanic.. i could have gotten the opti for 150.. but the trick is.. the cap and router(which I also needed). was another 150. coming to a totall of 300. WAY cheaper than 500 (from the stealership). If you dont want to mess with it and have someone do it for ya.. look him up.

you want true Duals?... Or a preformance change in your exhaust?. hes a good person to see too.

yep my car is Medium quaser blue.

did it about a year ago, it crapped out on me the first week of classes.

yseturday when i still thought my car was working enough to get home i was calling around asking for prices...

central auto parts had remanned ones for like 200 bucks

the dealer i went to had new ones for close to 500 bucks

i ordered one from dal cromer (mentioned many times in the LT1 board) for 233 shipped overnight

Almost all of that is labor though. I think the stock replacements are like $200 or you could buy an aftermarket, like Walbro, for under $200(I think). The dealer charges an arm and aleg because they have to drop the axle, etc. Replacing the pump isn't too bad. I had to do it, and definitely would never pay someone $700 to do it.

Dropping the rear axle isn't that bad.

Not sure about the rear axle, but dropping the axle is relatively easy.

dealer called again

fuel tank was empty, even though the sensor told the dash that it was 1/4

so the fuel level sensor crapped out, car ran out of gas, fried the fuel pump...
