Chances of this Engine?drewstealth 11-25-2003, 03:05 PM Just wondering what you think the chances of this engine coming into production on some stangs. http://www.stangnet.com/sema2003/50cammer.html guionM 11-25-2003, 03:10 PM The 5.0 cammer I believe was originally intended for production, and the displacement may end up in production. However, don't expect the carbs or 420 horsepower if it does. Z28x 11-25-2003, 03:55 PM Originaly that was going to be the 2005 (S197) Cobra engine. I think it would make a good Maurader engine (the Fuel Injected Version of course) Ken S 11-25-2003, 04:34 PM it better eb alot cheaper then.. Last I read, the 5.0 cammer crate engine is going for $15,000! drewstealth 11-25-2003, 04:52 PM Yeah i new the carb wasn't gonna happen but i was thinking maybe they would put that in a The Boss Mustang if it is to come out. Would that be 302cu in.? Boss 302? 305fan 11-25-2003, 04:59 PM Maybe a production version would have the 3 valve heads too--now that the 5.4L engine has them. Magnum Force 11-25-2003, 11:33 PM $15,000 for 420 carb'd HP??? I'm certain we're all impressed... How much is an LS6 crate engine? Can't you get a 528ci Hemi crate for 15 G's? Maybe it's just me, but SEMA has lost some luster the past two years...I just don't see a lot of things that really excite me. That and the fact that production cars are getting more powerful all the time... Ken S 11-26-2003, 01:25 PM Here's where I read about it http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/11/cammer/index.shtml The 5.0L EFI "Cammer" crate engine, including the wiring harness kit, will sell for a MSRP of $14,995 and will be available from the 2004 Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog. ... What's more, harness kits – which include the powertrain control module (PCM) – provide all of the necessary electrical connectors, including end terminals, a fuse box, a power distribution box, as well as switch connectors and fuel pump relays. Z28Wilson 11-26-2003, 01:33 PM The GM 502 goes for $7500.... Ken S 11-26-2003, 01:55 PM well, I guess the question is how much is that wire harness and all for EFI worth? on top of it all I think its pretty cool what Ford has done.. it just seems awefully expensive... does GM have a similar full packaged deal? | ||
