Time for 12 bolt

After more than ten 10 second passes, the 10 bolt finally gave up. Not bad for running 4.10's in a stock rear. We are going to a Strange 12 bolt with 4.10's and a full spool. Anyone have an idea how much the extra weight will slow us down? Hopefully not several tenths. Ha Ha.

He He 10 bolt goes BOOM funny. Sorry about your luck man i dont think a 12 bolt takes off that much time but probably some if you dont have the HP and TQ to make up for it...

Hey John,

You have a car that is running as fast as yours is why not go with a Mark Williams Ford 9"? These rear ends are much lighter then the 12 bolt and IMO stronger. You can actually have a chromoly 9" housing made for super weight savings.

I run a custome chromoloy 9" housing with Stranging Engineering Ultra case senter section with a titanium spool and pinion yoke with the big 9.5 ring and pinion. This will never break and is way lighter than the 12 bolt.

Since the 12 bolt is similar in strength to a Ford 8.8, yeah, the 9 inch Ford is stronger.
