i have done extinsive computer tunning, but still no headers. just hard to spend that much at one time.

You might want to get your car looked at or re tuned, my car runs 8.4 1/8th with all boltons minus headers, stock heads/cam. A bigger stall would definitely help also.

You're really hurting yourself by not having headers and by having such a small stall. Unfortunately, because you have a 94 Z, you will be pretty much limited to a 2800 stall anyways, because of the high stall/obd1 problem.

well, i broke a rod(got water on a piston) and when i fixed it i put in the cam, it feels a good bit stronger, the gears converter thing has been a huge pain, had to chang then out a couple times.
i did notice my speed was off last night by nearly 5mph also. the time before was around 105-107 last night was right at 100.
the speed was by my speedometer, they didnt have the 1/4 times set up.

i know each car is differant but what do you guys think my timming should be.
i know the old school cars should be around 38-45, but do our cars respond the same way to timming. right now i cant hear any ping, exhoust is too loud. new muffler is waiting to go on.

Do you have a way to log any of your runs? You need to see if your picking up knock retard, check your O2 readings and see what the scanner tells you your timing is at WOT. Also, it's still a good idea to pull some plugs and read them. Good luck.
