What are the major problems?

What are the most common problems that occur in the LS1 engine from 98'02'? Is it usually a worthy engine as long as all the regular maintenance checks are done?

some LS1's have an oil consumption problem at high(er) RPM's. so you change the oil more often ;)

and not true with all LS1's..
