I purchased a METCO D.S. loop and the SOB dosen't fit on my 02 SS. Is there somthing different about them? Also since I didn't get any instructions with it where exactly does it go? Does it replace the stamped steel tunnel brace? Thanks for the help.

Yes, I've never installed a Metco loop but there are cases where a D.S loop won't work with some y-pipes ( even a stock y-pipe. Do a search and see if there's any write up's on how to install it, good luck.

Thanks for the help Al, but my problem lies more with the bolt holes not lining up......... it clears everything else though.

I went to Metco's web site but there's nothing there to help, I also did a search on yahoo and found this http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/207265/3 . The guy says you need to remove the seats and console, if you have the same kind it looks like there might be some drilling also.

Does you loop look like this http://www.fasttoys.net/metcodriveshaftloop.jpg , if it does you'll need to drill hole to install it. Personally I'd just forget about it and get something else that doesn't require drilling. JMO

WOW that was alot of info I couldn't find... but that is the one I have.. and of course they mentioned nothing about having to drill or anything like that to install it.... I will just return it. On a similiar note though.. do you know of a DS Loop that is easy to install and not to $$$?? Thanks for all of the help once again!

Scott, Here's a little something from the BMR web site and can also apply to any loop on the market today, "Due to the infinite variations of exhaust combinations, aftermarket driveshafts and aftermarket torque arms, this loop may not fit your particular application without shimming and/or exhaust alteration." I can tell you if you plan on installing the SLP y-pipe or there LT headers in the future the SLP safety loop will works great. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have the slp DS loop. I had to shim it with washers to make the DS weight not hit it when on a lift. It is also lower than my stock y-pipe which is an issue with a lowered car. Any DS loops fit better(not as low)?

Two different shops couldn't get my BMR loop to fit on my stock setup without rattling against one thing or another. It cost a lot more, but the LG Motorsports G2 loop fit the stock setup, and with some shimming, it also works with my long tube headers.

My BMR loop wouldn't fit with the stock Y-pipe.It fits perfect with the MAC headers and cat-less Y-pipe though.

I have the Lakewood driveshaft loop - installed it last spring and have had no problems with it -- don't need to remove driveshaft to install either -- got it from JEG's for 49.99 + ship
Part # is 620-18022 -- its a real heavy piece that DOES replace the tunnel brace.
Might be worth checking out  By the way, my car is a 2002 Camaro - stock exhaust
