5SPDCHK 11-19-2003, 12:34 PM What do you have going on?
I'm still trying to get my Nova in one piece. Should make it out for some test & tune races before points start when the track opens up in February. :)
;)
I need to go completely through the 23T. The motor and powerglide needs to be freshened up. I am also going to rewire the car. Lastly, I would like to get it repainted before next season.
On the Camaro, I need to replace the output shaft on the T56 since it broke at the end of this year. I also need to get the hood painted.
RBE17 11-19-2003, 02:12 PM Put my '95TA back together so I can sell it in the spring. Continue to save money so I can move onto the next car...a Turbo Buick.
Later,
Steve.
rskrause 11-19-2003, 04:23 PM New 0.010" over block and rotating assy, new cam, have the intake ported and the intake side of the heads ported. New paint is also possible.
Rich Krause
Projectz28 11-19-2003, 05:09 PM Well lets see.... finish my laundry room. I'm putting the drywall up now. Move my hot water heater, put in the fireplace in the family room, paint the bedroom...
Oh, wait... I guess you were talkin about the car huh?
Well in that case... I'm ripping out the interior to put in a roll bar. 12 bolt is going in, new rubber to go with the new wheels, and a major diet for the car. If I manage to get all that done by spring I have had some thoughts about putting a small shot of nitrous on it too.
This all ofcourse depends on weather or not the house gets done.
kazman 11-19-2003, 05:12 PM Maybe some day my car and the engine will be in the same place. First T&T out will be at ATCO (whenever that will happen).
Mike383LT1 11-19-2003, 05:49 PM install afr's 210 new cam put everthing back together maybe convert to single intercooler any help would be apretiated tryng to find link of anybody who has put one on a formula 93-95
5SPDCHK 11-20-2003, 10:39 AM Wow, looks like everyone has their hands full!
Jim,
Good luck getting that engine and car together Jim! That's one of the few things that ARE together on my car. :D
Red,
You have a nice list of "to do's", don't you?! Good luck getting everything done.
Steve,
Turbo Buick, eh? Those are great cars. Check out GoDragRacing.com (http://www.godragracing.com) for some G-Body loving folk. :)
Rich,
You've got your hands full too. Everyone is looking for new paint this winter eh? I fear that by the time I get the car mechanically together I'll be stuck with a $200 Maaco pain job.
Brian,
You have a nice little "honey do" list goin' on there too. :D J/K Are you ever going to make to a points race??
Mike,
Did you check out LT1 tech? I'm sure someone there could at least point you in the right direction. Good luck!
So, here are some pictures of my nova progress (http://community.webshots.com/album/55408353foXmCk/1) if you're interested. Here are some more pictures (http://community.webshots.com/album/94345873fHBMIK) on the custom headers Rick built for me. Without him, my car would still be sitting on the trailer in the yard at my dad's shop. Thank you Rick!!! :)
He left me a list of stuff to order from Summit today and that includes 4.86 gears, a catch can, a water neck, batter kit and shut off switch. First he wants to get it sitting on the ground rather than the jack stands. I can't really give you any more details than that, but I'm sure I have bored you already.
Anyway, good luck with the projects everyone!
;)
Jeff H 11-20-2003, 04:45 PM My 68 Camaro with the LT1/4L60E should be arriving any day now so I'll be tweaking on that to get everything working properly. None of the gauges are hooked up, there are some AC components in place so it would be nice to get it working, needs new rear springs, need to get a posi rear under it too. I'm almost done building the bar for the house. Soon to have 2 beers on tap! That might make working on the car a little harder.
ibanez6rg 11-20-2003, 10:18 PM Hopefully I'll find another job so I can do my dealio. But I like time off :)
Heads/cam, rockers, rev kit, torque converter, gears... I have most the stuff, but I want to wait until I have everything till I start this/these projects.
GREGG 97Z 11-21-2003, 04:52 PM Biggest plans for the winter are a stronger clutch and a lighter flywheel, other than that just some little things like rewiring some new switches for the wp, fan and line lock. I don't think I'm touching the motor anymore this winter, I'm happy with what I'm getting out of it for now. I'll probably tear into it again next winter. Possibly a 12bolt or 9" if I can work a good deal on one. We are looking at having a new house built early next year so that's going to be my main "project" for '04 :)
zmanlt1 11-21-2003, 08:29 PM Have to get my trans redone, cause I no longer have OD or drive. Maybe I'll get around to putting the cam rockers and ported heads on my car this winter. I can't wait to hit Atco after all that is done.
SABLT194 11-21-2003, 08:55 PM I'm going to try to tweek a few more CFM out of Lloyds heads. Then I'm trying to install a Mcleod Revloc II adjustable clutch with sintered iron disk, and a Blowproof bellhousing. In theory, I should be able to launch at 5K and hardly even squeek a tire.
Time will only tell. I think I'm blazing a new trail here for the F-Body crowd.
If this works, I'll bet Rich will ditch that TH400 and head back to T56 land!:D
Steve
RacinLT1 11-22-2003, 06:26 AM well, looks like i might be back out after all next year.
just got flow numbers on my "cleaned up" afr 220's and they peaked at 304.............
so im gonna throw them on either a mega cheap 355 or hopefully a 383 and spay the snot out of it along with Gen 7 DFI and a Tbraked th400.
Fastbird93 11-24-2003, 04:21 PM Lets see......
Get my black car running right. :D Working on it currently.
New clutch in the Fiance's driver (PP 93 T/A)
Finish basement off.
Have a happy holidays!!! :D
Bad AZz Z28 11-26-2003, 03:25 AM well i bought my car in the 14s, fixed it into the 13s, modded it into the 12s, drove it into the 11s.....so whats the next place for the car to go according to the line??
obviously back to stock, more stock than ever before ;)
ill be glad when it gets closer to being done (haha "done" like that happens), i can stop talking rich krause and jordan musser's ear off about the million questions i run into, and start posting up some setup explanations, dyno slips, and track times :D
5SPDCHK 11-26-2003, 08:18 AM Dang, everyone seems to have a lot on their plates for this winter. Good luck to everyone in their projects. I hope you (and me) are all able to complete everything as planned.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
;)
RBE17 11-26-2003, 01:08 PM Jacki,
Thanks for the site. I haven't been there before. Most of internet time gets spent at www.turbobuick.com.
A quick update on the winter projects. An opportunity has presented itself to purchase a gorgeous '86GN. I'm looking at another one on Friday and making a decision then. In the meantime, I'll start making storage arrangements.
Anyone want to buy a disassembled 17,000 '95TA? All parts to go back together.
Later,
Steve.
spraytheway 11-27-2003, 01:36 AM Well this winter...not too much:
Lexan windsheild and hatch window
Tubular kmember and tubular A arms with light weight hubs and brakes
Lightweight pin on hood
Install new power glide trans
Play with fresh engine on engine dyno
Play with engine on chassis dyno
Then hopefully high 8's on a 250 shot of spray... Then step it up.
Vince

How much do you want for it?
Fastbird93 11-27-2003, 01:37 PM Actually I forgot one thing: LATE this winter, I'm talking like Feb-March, the Black car is going in for a new paintjob. Haven't decided on the color yet, but I'm leaning towards a Dark Purple Metallic, a more burnt Sunset Orange Metallic, or the new *gasp* Ford Dark Grey Metallic. Opinions?? :D

Red. :D
Of the choices, I like Sunset Orange Metallic the best, however, I'm not sure how much I would like it on an LT1. So, I'm thinking the dark purple metallic sounds best.
;)

That's what I said. Dark Purple Metallic. But my Fiance' is against me driving a "purple" car. I told her don't worry, Purple with brushed aluminum emblems (screaming chicken, Trans Am, ect) and black Grand Sport or Polished Fikse rims would look good. And if I can ever get it running right, it will have the balls to back it up too. :D
The purple I'm actually looking at is the one used on the F-Body in 98. Bright Purple Metallic. That one gets an "O" face from me. :D
AndyCLT1 11-27-2003, 07:40 PM My plans are to wait until Vince is done with his project, then steal it from him. I want that car!

ahhhhh i hate purple (and teal) on cars....ok sorry, haha.....but i recommend the orange metallic...the gray would be hot too, but the orange is more rare

Thanks Andy, That is really nice of you to say. I am so looking forward to next year. It is going to be so fun to be ready in the spring for a change. It has been years since I was ready before july 1. Hope your coming racing one weekend?
Vince
AndyCLT1 11-28-2003, 01:57 PM I'll definitely come up to see you run the car Vince. Just let me know before you do and I'll be there.

I don't have a teal car....it's blue-green. If I got it new I'd go for the Sunset Orange. ;)
foff667 11-29-2003, 03:31 PM when i finally get the right headers from pacesetter im puttin them and their ypipe on...my TC is getting put on in a couple of weeks as well...im also hoping to install a cam by march. I should be able to run some low 12's with all that wrapped up...then maybe I'll talk about some heads :p

Bill
matt98ls1 11-29-2003, 05:59 PM well since i finally got a job  i'll probably go with some headers, stronger clutch, and then a nice 125 dry shot :D
Can't wait
Bob's 01SLPSS 11-30-2003, 02:36 AM Since I have my 71'&73' NOVAS totally done and restored and my 01' SS is doing well, This Winter I plan on working on my 03' Silverado LS1. I already have the exterior mods taken care of, now it is time to work on the engine mods. I will do the little stuff first, then there might be a power adder in the truck's future.;)
DamianLT1 12-02-2003, 04:23 PM My winter project will be going to small claims court and suing the F*cker who did my heads. About 6 months after installation damper in the springs break and valve seals leak. This is without taking the car to the track.
Pampered-Z 12-06-2003, 01:44 PM Now that we're settled in the new house: I have two projects:
1) get some heat in the garage!
2) I really hope to find enough time ( and money) to get the car done by spring. I have to finish putting the 383 together and installed, supercharger, Electromotive computer, fuel pumps, long tubes, and all the other parts I collected installed. I think figuring out the best place to mount the tech II and then building the new wiring harness is going to be the hardest part of the whole project.
foff667 12-15-2003, 03:24 PM the Z gets its 3500 stall vert installed this weekend, ive got the pacesetter headers/ypipe sitting in my garage...i have to get ls1 edit so i can delete the rear o2's and im hoping to have a cam in after i get my tax refund so figure around march 1st :) just in time for the new season woo hoo:D

As long as it doesn't have a three foot wing and neon lights all around it etc... it sounds like a pretty cool car to me :)

It probably sounds like a leaf blower! :D Is that 380hp at the rear wheels? Sorry, I couldn't help myself, you left the door wide open. What are you using, the GM supercharger with NOS?
95 Silver TA 12-17-2003, 09:13 PM All I have to do this winter is take the car down to Mufflex and they will install a new custom Offroad Y-pipe, fix my header leak, machine flanges if needed, install new plugs and hopefully a new Lt4 starter, mabee have them make a custom intake for my blower to get more boost. Then I am off to Bryan Herter to get my car Dyno Tuned with WideBands o2s.
Last winter the 383 went in, then in spring the blower went on and I got a STREET tune from Bryan Herter from PCMForless. I am expecting around a ~35HP increase or so with these new mods/fixes and the Dyno Tune with WideBands O2. I cant wait!:)
Thx,
Claude

Ack. That sucks.
My boyfriend is going through a similar ordeal with the company that did his torque convertor. They set the stall wrong and when he sent it back for them to fix it, they took his credit card number to bill him for the shipping back and they billed him a couple of hundred dollars instead. They said they freshened it. Riiiiiight. The best part is that it still isn't right.

Jason Short 12-18-2003, 08:32 AM My new project:
Sold my solid roller 396 NA setup. New motor: 383, Vortech YS trim, big intercooler, fuel system. Probably wont run until the summer though.
