Are MSD 50#'s really that bad?RealQuick 11-18-2003, 12:39 PM I see them for sale alot and want to know if they are truly that bad? IDOXLR8 11-18-2003, 12:46 PM The problem I have heard of MSD 50 lb injectors is that they tend to lock up under high fuel pressure. mongse_1 11-18-2003, 01:08 PM The problem I have heard of MSD 50 lb injectors is that they tend to lock up under high fuel pressure. Same here. 95 Silver TA 11-18-2003, 04:06 PM I have 50# Flowtested Injectors from Combination Motorsports and they work well. I believe they are MSD injectors but were flow tested. I heard a lot of guys having funky ideling problems and getting poor gas mileage (like 10MPG on the Highway). I had Bryan at PCMforless personally STREET tune my car and I am getting 14MPG in mixed city driving and about 18MPG on the Highway. And my car idles beautifully, so I am happy. I hear a few guys on here that made it to the mid 500RWHP level with 50#ers and then started running lean. I currently have header leak which is causing my car to run rich but once I get that fixed and install a new off road Y-pipe, I will have my car Dyno tuned with WideBand 02s. I am shooting for around 450RWHP give or take about 10-15HP on a Daily Driver that sees 600 Miles weekly. Later down the line, that may change :D Thanks, Claude Jeff 96 SS 11-18-2003, 06:01 PM My MSD 50s worked great I think the reason you see them for sale is that people outgrow them. That is true in my case but if you are making in the mid to low 500RWHP range then they are great. I happen to have a set for sale if you need some. I have the same injectors and Seth and Sam had them pushing 600+Rwhp with them. They were starting to lean out on top though. Shooting for high 500rwhp on mine. Mav Pro Stock John 11-19-2003, 11:10 AM One tuner has told me that he has a lot of problems getting them to idle properly with a stock pcm. RealQuick 11-19-2003, 11:57 AM Thanks for all the info. I am working out a deal for 48lb/hr Accel's. BlownRedz28 11-19-2003, 09:50 PM I was thinking of getting 42lb injectors by bosch. are they any good? Julio 11-22-2003, 10:51 AM Wow this thread is funny. I mean almost all the turbo buicks I know off run 50's and have had zero issues. they're selling in a flash on the TB board. Like hot cakes..gone I run mine at 70 PSI fuel with duty cycles at 75 percent and get my 3600 lb car to go mid 11's rite under 120 MPH. Funny how someones junk can be someone elses treasure. Maybe its the drivers inside the factory PCM that dont work well or??? I use my stock ECM and have never had any failures. I guess it depends who's burning the chip that matters. And running them past static is a no-no reguardless of injector. HTH Julio | ||
