Heres the situation guys...

I am putting in a 383 Stroker in MY 94 z...

And if you remember me posting in feb, my 84 TA had a carb fire from the mechanics fault. Anyways, i have the car in my possesion again 9months later and i think its time to put my old LT1 engine into the 84TA and bring it back to life!

So know i want to know the basics....how hard is it to complete an LT1 swap? What parts are needed? Anyone have an exact list?
Basically the parts that will come with the old engine thats in my Z right now is the Maf to the engine it self. I dont really anything much from my old engine for my 383.

So what else will i need? Or if u have any other thoughts or ideas, please let me know what u think.

and if u have any parts that'll fit an 84 TA, I probably might need it. so shoot my an email!

Long live the 3rd gen baby!

PCM
Custom Wiring harness
Fitting for the steam lines to the radiator (these are one the back of the heads and go to the radiator)
Steam lines if you have to use your old ones on your new motor
Fuel rail adaptors
Fuel Lines
Fuel Pump
any sensors that were taken off of the old motor
Flywheel if the LT1 is different than the motor that was in the 84, ie. 1 or 2 piece rear main seals

Best thing is get an LT1 carb intake and distributor and run it that way. Will be much cheaper and easier to do.

What's the point of getting an LT1 if you're going to carb the thing? IMO, that makes it a basicly worthless swap, as the power figures and driveability go down the toilet.

Don't carb it, that's a waste of time.

I sent you the link to my website last night when you e-mailed me for it, did you get it? If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.:)

Carb and EFI can produce the same power, just not really the same fuel economy. For $500, he can get the LT1 running with the carb and producing decent power.

so theres an LT1 in your 94 right now... and youre taking the 94 engine out and putting in the 84 then putting a 383 into your 94?

are you keeping the 94 lt1 intake etc.. onto the 383 block and putting the lt1 block from the 94 into the 84 and carbing it?

Once i get more towards the start date, i'll post more q's, but i just awnt to know the basics...

also, what interior pieces from a 93+ camaro will fit into the 3rd gen perfectly?
the seats should mount in no problem right?

im not sure about the tranny. if it does fit you may need another 4th gen driveshaft. -im not sure

there have been alot of 4th gen interior swaps done here, do a search. yes the seats will fit perfectly.

tranny will work fine as long as you use the 94 PCM.
4L60E is a 700R4 with Electronic Shifting.
Driveshafts are the same.
Seats bolt right in,
dash bolts right in,
pedals bolt right in,
center console bolts right in,

It may fit in the car, but getting it to WORK in the car is another story. Your picture displaying your absolute mess of wires is proof of that.;) Right?

Well, he asked what fits perfectly, and the dash pretty much fits perfect.

The wiring isn't too difficult, it just looks painful since there are som many sitting on the floor. :)

If you go with the a carb it is quite a bit cheaper and the power is still there. Hood clearance is an issue though cause there is only one intake i know of and its pretty tall.

Not going yet :(

Still gotta complete my 383 for my Z. I have the shortblock completed and the heads done. So now its the cam and the little stuff and new stock parts that i need. Plus a nice built tranny for it. So it still has time before i get it going. I wish i could do it right now! :p
