He's not trying to **** anyone off, me thinks.

Camaro actually does roughly translate to "good buddy" or "friend" or "chum" in French (a derrivative of the word "comorade"). I'll leave alone the possibility of it's use as a definition of a "gay" companion. I don't want to freak anyone out here today.

Then again, the Regal was almost renamed "LaCrosse". Another French word (initially naming a native American Game) that has an accidential alternate meaning.

BTW: Camaro/grafos also means "cameramen" in Spainish.

Everyone relax.

No, it doesn't mean what the thread starter said, he just made up a funny anagram, just like Ford is F****d Over Rebuilt Dodge. Just a joke, I really don't think it was meant to be taken seriously, considering in 1966 when they originally named the Camaro there was no such thing as a "ricer".

The EXACT meaning is here:
https://www.camaroz28.com/articles/camaroname/

Like I said, everyone relax.

Like Nova in Spanish "no go" no wonder why that one didnt sell well there. I knew it was a joke that started out. I was just letting ppl know what it realy means because most ppl dont.

As for me making American cars llok bad that one is not my fault. I think the US motor companies get the credit for bringing down the rep of US cars.
