Will Nissan sell 100,000 Titans in the first year?

I just finished reading an article at cars.com about Nissan and their new Titan pickup truck.

According to the article, Nissan is pricing their truck "$2,600 to $3,000 dollars less than comparable vehicles from GM, Dodge, and Ford". This is NOT counting the various discounts the other brands are offering right now, however.

So, my question is this:

In a market that's been dominated so long by US makers, is it going to be possible for Nissan to make 100,000 in the first year? What about the years after that?

yes. considering Nissan is on a roll right now, and the Trucks come highly praised, they'll have no problem letting'em rip. don't forget the SUVs based on the same truck. plus, it looks Dodge macho with slab sides, has good power from a V8 and has possibly the best name on a truck, TITAN. how much more macho can you get?

thats the $64K question, isn't it?

Nissan is the first foriegn automaker to go head to head with the domestic in the full sized truck arena. It is also the last segment which the domestics hold on to.

My guess is the Nissan will succeed. It will attract owners of Asian cars who need a truck. Up until now--they've been forced to get domestics. Of course, the Nissan has no HD or diesel powerplants....not yet.

And plus--that Titan/ Armada is fast!!! I think they are underating that engines hp

Yeah, something like 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and this thing is no lightweight. Gotta have more than the advertised 305hp to go that fast.
