Anyone going to ATCO tomorrow other than me?Fred94LT1 11-14-2003, 09:16 PM I'm going to attempt to get this slow LS1 to run a 12.8x time. It would be nice to talk to some fellow F-body guys while there, Fred Fastbird93 11-24-2003, 04:26 PM I've been trying and trying to get my car running right to get it out to the track by the end of the year. Still don't have it fixed. Hoping to have it fixed now that I think I found the problem. Did you get your 12.8??? Fred94LT1 11-24-2003, 06:53 PM Actually yes I did. My previous best had been a 13.31@108.5 spinning, so I bought a set of BFG drag radials and installed a cutout. I went 12.82@109.77 after those mods on a 1.860 60' time. I can run a 1.7x 60' once i get these new BFG's broke in a little bit. I did cut a 1.84 60' but frigged up shifting once the clutch got hot and shifted from 2nd to 5th, DOH! So what is wrong with your car, Fred Fastbird93 11-24-2003, 08:21 PM Stumble/hesitation, looks like it's due to a continually arcing coil. I tried three different coils, same problem each time. I have to check my grounds now as it's all I can think of. Fred94LT1 11-24-2003, 08:36 PM I can't count the times my 94 Z had burnt plug wires. A few times I looked and couldn't see anything wrong to later go back and see where the wire was causing all the problem. Of course I had SLP 1 3/4" shorties. I loved the power they allowed me to make but the wires always caused me similar symptoms, Fred Fastbird93 11-24-2003, 08:57 PM Well, I noticed a very random arc on two plug wires. Nothing major, but yeah, it needs to be taken care of. My problem lies in the fact that the coil is a constant series of arcing to the square coil bracket. I've checked the ground, good. Connections, good. This is the bane of my existence right now. Fred94LT1 11-24-2003, 11:17 PM Drive that sucker up to Staten Island and I'll locate the problem. You just have to be able to hang around for a couple of hours, Fred Fastbird93 11-25-2003, 06:03 AM Ha! :D I'd love to take you up on that offer, but I don't have the time, nor the patience to drive that car in traffic up there. :D I made that mistake of driving into NYC once, that's the last time I'm even going up that way!!! ;) Actually, it's a time thing for me. I work full days, and commute an hour each way to work. Thanks for the offer though! | ||
