Medical nitrous

I was just wondering if the nitrous oxide they use for medical applications (laughing gas) is the same as what people use in their cars.

No, the nitrous used in cars has sulfer dioxide added to it. It smells like ass and can kill you if you try to inhale it.

but yes its the same with the additive to keep people from inhaleing it and no it does not work better if you get medical grade i know that was coming next

Easy killer. I think he just wanted to know if you could use medical grade nitrous in a car application. I don't think he cared if it's better or worse.

i believe you can use it in your car. my dad told me he used to use it all the time in his 78 Z

You can use it with no problems. The only difference between the two is that non-medical N2O has sulfur added so you can't inhale it.

i was just talkin to my dad and were gonna try and get medical grade (i guess its alot cheaper). im gettin tired of payin 5.25 a lb

Yeah, automotive grade it does have sulfer-dioxide added, but at 2 parts per million, it's not gonna kill anyone. That ^$%& rotten egg smell will make your hurl (thats why they add it, so we don't have a run of people out there hooking up their purge lines to a face mask :) ), but it's not gonna kill you...

you can buy industrial nitrous from a welding shop, same as automotive to my knowledge.

around $1.30-1.80 a pound
