91 Redd Sledd 11-09-2003, 01:06 PM Well I have been recieving calls from Harold down in Louisiana updating me on how his car is running and he wanted me to post up the results for him.
Day One Friday- Backed it off the trailer with 25 psi in the stickys and launching in 2nd gear he ran a 11.50 something at 120mph.
2nd run- Adjusted tire pressure to ?? and launched in 1st gear this time and run an 11.13 at 121mph.Almost got the 10 second run he was looking for on motor.He told me he was going to wait for it to cool down and run it again in the evening when the temps were a little cooler and go for the 10's on motor again.That was the last I heard from him on that day.
day two- I guess he only got one run in today from what he said.This time he was spraying on it and ran a 10.06 at 134mph.So once again he almost made it to the 9's on spray.I have not gotten a Sunday update as of yet.I was supposed to post this up earlier but this is the first cahnce I got.Looks like he's doing pretty good.All the messages on my phone , he sounded excited as hell.

taner 11-09-2003, 08:01 PM copngrats to Harold!!! i spoke with Derty last night, he went 9.68 with a butt load of tire shake, and he qualified 2nd in MS/PA!!
how cool is that! cody beat Ron Duke in madman's car. apparently the madman doesn't drive his own car.. i am still trying to figure that one out. Ron Duke did make an 8.57 pass though!!! awesome!

harold went 9.9x as well then when he ran derty in a grudge match he broke his 12bolt, doh!!!!
91 Redd Sledd 11-09-2003, 09:24 PM Taner you beat me to it.I was in the truck driving down to D town for school when I got the call.Harold told me he went 9.90 at 137.And that is bad luck on the 12 bolt.But as we spoke about a week or so ago.You gotta pay to play!!But it still sucks.

I'm very comfortable having a driver in my car and letting me tune, BUT if you want to pick a lane I will personally drive my own car JUST to run beside you.

wow, you posted in the michigan section. congrats to Cody and you on the win at thunder! (as i stated on ls1 tech)
if half the fun is building it then the other half is driving it....well i guess i can see where you are coming from , but i just find it tough to understand not getting into that monster and running it down the track. i never realized Kurt Urban was driving for Ron, and i never knew that Jay billinglsey had a driver. i thought my car was fast, lol! 8's that speaks for itself. but if i can't put a tank in it and go for a 250 mile trip and then fill up i have no use for it. it is a compromise i can live with.
my FI m6 street car i know wouldn't stand a chance against your
ride. that is a no brainer, but heck i'd line up against you in a heartbeat. then i can say madman handed me my....well you get the picture.
maybe next year at thunder or if there is a more neutrally located event like Bowling Green. i would make that 9+ hour drive in a heartbeat. I will make sure it is all legal for next year first. then no one can say the rules weren't met, my fault i put a 8 pointin the car. i never planned on running as fast as i am.
this year the motor is getting freshened locally, and i am adding DFI for good measure. tens on motor .....9.xx on spray :)
