camarossguy2 11-07-2003, 10:27 AM Used to hate the idea of nitrous, like it was a cheater deal or something for guys who dont know chit about cars to compete with the guys running H/c setups...
BUT now....I think i have been swayed. I have the Head/cam, got the all forged 355....and i want more power. Or at least when i want it. And i guess thats where nitrous accels because its there only when you want it....
Not know much about the different systems is tried to do some reading and noticed there has not been a discussion on this in the past couple weeks at least.
What do you guys prefer? Im thinking Wet kits here in the 100-250 range
TNT, NOS, ZEX, Nitrous works, NX etc?? are there any big diferences? and pros vs cons? Anything i should definatle saty away from?
Educate me

Nitrous Express owners seem to be putting down awesome numbers on the dyno and on the track on these boards. I havent seen numbers for someone running a carb and plate setup on here tho.
I have an NOS cheater kit on my car. I like the kit, but the pricing of NOS stuff is ridiculous compared to NX. If I hadn't gotten my kit for free, I probably would have gone with a NX Hitman plate kit.
Oh well,
Seth
SpeedtechInc 11-07-2003, 11:56 AM My opinion is probably not worth a whole lot because I am biased becasue I am a Master Warehouse Distributor for NX but I do prefer NX. I have sold quite a few systems to F body guys and I have not had anyone unhappy with their systems or that are disappointed with the results. If you would like a price on an NX system let me know and I can make a great deal on a new system. Thanks

Many of the people in my local clubs run NX systems. I did not realize that there were actully power differences between systems, but hey, guess you learn something new all the time.
What about ease of install and clutter? I know ZEX has all there stuff in one box.
I will email you on the NX kit

I almost think its a bad thing that there are power differences between kits. A 100 horsepower shot in NOS terms and a 100 horsepower shot in NX terms are completely different. A 100 horsepower shot in N.O.S terms is measured at the flywheel. A 100 horsepower shot in NX terms is measured at the rear wheels. So, assuming 20% drivetrain loss, a 100 shot in NX is really a 125 at the flywheel. A 125 in NX is really a 156 at the flywheel, and a 150 is really a 187 at the flywheel.
hot_red_z28 11-07-2003, 12:30 PM That's correct, the NX kits are measured at the rear wheels. I like my NX stuff, the install was fairly simple, and the instruction booklet is unbelievably helpful...
I have the NX 35-150 kit (well, 50-150 for v8 fbodies). Mine is currently set at 100 shot and is awaiting some better tuning. Then i'll be upping to 150... You'd definately be happy with the kit, I assure you.
The feeling you get when you are running at wide open throttle, thinking your car couldn't possibly put out more power, or pull any harder, and you hit the nitrous, and it screams out and lunges forward is incredible... :D
NVetro 11-07-2003, 01:08 PM My NX kit is cool, didn't spray it yet though
Nitrous Crazed 11-10-2003, 08:39 PM NX is the way to go.I get all my NX stuff from Nitrous Outlet.Give them a call Great customer service and prices.1-866-648-7637
262guy? 11-11-2003, 09:01 PM I also have NX....I like it a lot and would reccomend it to anyone..Just put NX kit on my friends blue extreme bagged on 20's look for it runnin low 13's at m9.
I love NX!
gb95zconv 11-11-2003, 10:37 PM Every time this comes up NX is by far the peoples choice. Ive been pleased with my setup.
nx and tnt both are good quality kits, with the good noids, ect...
nx has far more dealers, and is easy to get parts for. (although, most parts are compatible across vendors)
i am also a nx fan.
Ryan. :D
